themuel
1.19.11 Back of the net Wow well done!! I've not ran since Wednesday because I've been full of cold and generally coughing my guts up, and as its been raining pretty much non stop since the snow I figured it wasn't for the best. Really annoying, I want to run and the marathon is coming around quickly!!

Dead chuffed with it as I went out on saturday night, had 6 pints of Kent's best, smoked the best part of a 20 deck and had a ratburger on the way home! Kowalski
No pavements to run on up here at the moment, we've still to shift a heap of snow. Great time TGH!

TheGayTent
4 weeks until my half marathon and I have 12 miles in the plan for this weekend, so the snow had better shift! How is your half training going? What's the course like? Flat? Hilly? I have entered the Great South Run, so Paula Radcliffe better watch out

DrDoolittle
Why not?! Hell I may even go one better than Paula and curl out a No.2 I thought she did anyways!! My bladder always plays up when Im running. I was on the treadmill in the gym last night for 20 minutes and had to get off for a pee. Worried about doing a city 10K and having nowhere to go. I'm the opposite - always really need to go before a run, and then don't for hours after i've finished
themuel
Don't worry there are loads of toilets all over the place usually i think? Or at least there were at the London marathon. did a ten miler today in 1.25, pretty happy with that considering how hilly it was! really tired me out though i was empty by the end of it. hope that changes before the marathon on April 26th! I have entered the Great South Run, so Paula Radcliffe better watch out Training is going terribly due to the snow. I have not managed a long run for 10 days due to the weather. I am up to 11.5 miles with 3 and a half weeks to go. Hoping to do 12 miles this weekend and 13 the following weekend. I won't break 2 hours! The course is mostly flat with an uphill from 4.5 to 5.5 miles but the rest is fine. That's why i chose it as my first (and last?) half. And, as said above, it wasn't a "single fish" Paula stopped for.
Glitter+Vodka
ive not done anything in 2 weeks now, coz of the weather and a boozy trip to belfast i was only starting week 3 of my plan but il hav to go back to the start now! But need to do 1.5 hours at the weekend, as my half is the following weekend - damn weather
Kowalski
Finally got back into it. Did a 10K tonight and hoping for at least 10 miles at the weekend. Planning on doing the full 13.1 miles a week on Saturday as preparation!

Kowalski
Very unusual that is. Though not a bad idea IMO. Perhaps, I just want to do the distance before the race. Plus there's 10 of us doing it, I don't want to come last (some of the others are up to 15 miles in training for it ).

Did 11 miles this morning and it was a struggle. 10 days without a decent run due to the weather has definitely derailed my training. TheGayTent
Am in slighty better shape than before but course is a lot more hilly than the two previous half marathons I've done.

One week to go for my half, planning to do my first 10 miler tomorrow morning. Have to get up earlier than if going to work alas, eldest has an early away footy match and there is just no other time to get a 1.5 hour run in
timespeedsup
10 miles duly done, certain parts of legs and feet rather ache with surely worse to come tomorrow, but the half does not sound untenable, and 2 hours sounds quite possible. Also my longest run ever. Ever. (until next weekend) My mate has kindly informed me that the Brighton half has a bit of an upwards incline around the 11 mile mark. Either way, would you people recommend a slightly longer run midweek or shuld I be conserving energy and achine muscles this week?

I wouldn't do anything after Tuesday, definitely rest until the race. I also wouldn't do too long a run if you're having another one, 8 miles or something. That's just me though. TheGayTent
I agree, I wouldn't do a long run that close to the race. Amazed and chuffed with race this morning. Smashed pb by more than 10 mins on a hilly course. 1.46.33 unofficial time
stoopidbird
10 miles run for me yesterday - have been getting back in to it after 6 weeks totally laid off due to this stupid foot problem. First 8 miles brilliant, ran out of steam for the last 2 but got myself through it nonetheless. FLM isn't looking impossible now at least. Easy miles next weekend, 12 miles weekend after (will be my longest run ever), taper weekend after that then Silverstone half mara. best start on me fundraising then, since it looks like I'm doing the marathon after all - hooray!
