officialcream
BEST SOUNDSYSTEMS AND SOUNDPROOFING TO DATE AT CREAMFIELDS 2008 Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th August ‘08 Daresbury, Halton, Cheshire www.creamfields.com Creamfields is a festival that over the last 10 years has consistently improved with age, this year more so than ever, with a freshly polished format and one of this years most imaginative line ups, Creamfields 2008 is undoubtedly one of the hottest festivals of the summer. Following last years installation of the Funktion One Soundsystem, Creamfields is set to improve the sound further and will be sound proofing some of the arenas with acoustic draping! The draped arenas will absorb more sound within the tent which will prevent more noise escaping into the outside space. This ultimately means that the event will be able to have higher volumes inside the tent than in previous years and prevent sound pollution to the environment, one of the many green initiatives in place for the event. Creamfields is working with Sound expert Jim Griffiths from Independent Acoustic Company, Vanguardia, who has worked on some of the biggest festivals in the UK including Glastonbury and Reading, he says: “The sound proofing material has been assessed by our company and it will enable higher sound levels to be established in the venue whilst minimizing the impact outside' This is just one of the many new developments and green initiatives taking place at this years event. D@Z
I thought the sound was good last year, although I spent most of my time in the Cream & Goodgreef tent.

mikemo
I got a mate that works at a soundproofing company soundproofing forum, said they were getting loads of requests for soundproofing for festivals this year. He was saying most of the stuff that would be effective is too heavy and too expensive to be used in festival marqees. But said they were getting something new in this year that should do the job (though may not be in time for this years earlier festivals). officialcream
I can assure you we had soundproofing for 2008, and as your friend said it does come as a cost to the festival, but we feel that it is definitely worth that to have the best sound quality for the DJs/Artists & Punters!
