Loving this thread!

Absolutely loved the view from the back of Pennard's this year. Being at the highest point of Glasto and looking down is awe-inspiring! And once you've hiked to the top you really do deserve to enjoy the view!

And Jazz World is just brilliant. Get yourself near Brothers, smash a cider in, grab some quality grub and just enjoy the brilliant atmosphere.

No doubt in my mind: sitting on the hill outside the acoustic tent with a pint from the next door Real Ale Bar, looking across at the Tipi Fields and the Sacred Space. When the sun's out and there's some laid back twiddly-widdly drifting out of the tent, all seems well with the world.

I agree about Jazzworld, too. A good place to meet up and hang out even when there's no band on. And some of my most pleasant memories have been Saturday or Sunday morning in front of the Other Stage, reading the Guardian and Q Daily while the first band on plays to a small but appreciative crowd.

Trouble is, all these scenarios only work when it's dry. That's why I hold no truck with people who say the mud shouldn't spoil your enjoyment. It spoils nearly all of my enjoyment. B)

My favourite was sitting at the top of pennards by all the flags on the Wednesday night at sunset soaking up all the excitement and cheers from everyone! was awesome! then strolling down to the stone circle where I spent everynight of the festival-just love it, meeting new people, chatting, laughing, love it!!!

My neighbours were firemaking experts and a nice cosy spot in a chair around it made for some great evenings for me, my friend, them and passing strangers who were attracted to the warmth it exuded making for some lovely conversations to be remembered.

Later in the evenings both Shangri La and Trash City became favourites for divulging in some intoxicated dancing until the sun began to rise, the lights, music, people and sometimes the metal sculptures made the places seem out of this world and I had a lot of fun there.

On the Wednesday when my friend and I had mulled around the various areas getting our bearings we ended up walking up the hill at the back of Pennards which was a rather wobbly state of affairs, due to both the cider and its steepness. We settled ourselves next to everyone else who all had a smile on their faces and were enjoying eachothers company and we looked out at the site at how huge it was and how we were a tiny part of it. It looked amazing and the sun set whilst we watched, the start to the festival being that beautiful could indeed make it my favourite area but of course I'm indecisive, It's Glastonbury, anywhere at any point could become my favourite Glastonbury area.

For me it would have to be just strolling around Avalon. I loved that place, it was like a lovely peaceful haven away from the madness of the big stages. Also just lying up at the Stones and watching the world go by with the quiet hum of the festival drifting up, the boom from The Park and the people buzzing around me. Heaven x

Hearing different stuff when the wind blew from our tent was amazing - hearing the cheers on the Wednesday night sat with your mates by the tent & seeing the odd lantern in the sky is priceless

Trash City on Friday or Sat night after the stage bands finished was electric - flames, Schlomo etc just great.

Park, Shangri La & Jazzworld all brilliant, there was a small cinema tent somewhere at 4am showing random clips of stuff with cushions everywhere - was introduced to the Muppets with REM (shiny happy monsters anyone?).

Rabbit hole should revert to last years glory more seating, teapots, tea and scary Alice guarding the hole with her dancing playing cards again please! "Are you scared of the hole? GET IN THE HOLE"

Thsi year was the first time I had go to the Stone Circle for when the sun came up. I was there around 5.30, smoke from small fires was everywhere and people were just having a good time. My mates and I walked right to the top of the hill, sat on the grass and just watched the site slowly wake up. Absolutely bloody perfect.
