Just watched Attack The Block. A perfectly enjoyable flick, with some good performances from the young'ens. A good film.

But it's the commentary tracks that make the dvd worth purchasing... Joe Cornish clearly knows his stuff, and has a massive passion for film making. The commentry with him and Edgar Wright is a film makers geek dream - so informative, and a great discussion between two guys who are clearly best friends. Best commentary I've listened to since, well... since Gareth Jennings' commentary on Son Of Rambow.

well we watched horrible bosses last night, and I was really really hoping for more from this - despite the negative reviews I had read, I really wanted to like it. I didnt laugh out loud once, and found it very pedestrian an the nal said. yeah i have always wanted to see JA as a wet dream figure, but even that didnt save it for me.

I think it was kermode that said, the one premise of the movie that was key to you buying into it, was that the roles were being reversed and a guy was being sexually harrassed by a female coworker, here we have a single guy being sexually harrassed by a woman who is no stranger to FHM's top 100 sexiest women on the planet. No sale I'm afraid.

Oh, and I downloaded transformers 3 for the lad, watched the first 20 minutes or so. who is this movie for? the plot was far too hard to follow for a young kid, and the dialogue and premise is far too banal and cringeworthy for anyone with an IQ into double digits. It was fucking awful.

Why not?

there was this scene where jamie (the 16 year old main character) was asked to shoot his friends dog, then anotherscene where he threw deer guts on some guys house

obviously both of these scene's being disturbing, it doesn't make the rest of the movie any less boring though....

What about horror movies? There's tonnes of movies that have some pretty gruesome scene's, doesn't automatically make the movie as a whole less boring.. imo

I'd probably say it's the worst film ever.

There are worse films on a technical level, there are worse films on an acting level, but sometimes a bad film can be so bad it's moderately entertaining (The Room for instance). Some films with terrible effects have an odd charm, and some don't actually try to be anything more than garbage.

Transformers 3 has no redeeming features whatsoever. It tries to be dramatic but has none. It tries to have action but there's just noise. It tries to have emotion but it's black heart is obvious. It tries to be funny but the jokes are as obvious and as dated as the ones you find in Christmas Crackers. At least The Phantom Menace had some good ideas. Porn doesn't try to be anything more than porn. This film is the most pretentious film I've ever seen - it pretends to be entertainment. It's everything about America - the west - that should be flushed down the toilet; an extended cynical toy advert spreading toxic Americana sentiment across the globe direct to the stunted frontal lobes of it's intended retarded audience. It's a bloated shitgasmic embarrassment to every human being on the planet.

Fuck Transformers 3.

Went to see Jurassic Park in the cinema last night and have to say it was fantastic. Got the trilogy on DVD, but I was only 7 when the first movie was released and never got the chance to see it in the cinema. Picture quality was decent (bit grainy here and there) but the experience and sound was absolutely fantastic.
