I need some advice please from those who have been before..

We are having a debate in the group as to when to go down to the festival..

One group wants to go down the sunday night and hang about the streets until the site opens

Another group thinks its more sensible to go down on the monday morning on the 9am train getting in at half 1 and then going into the festival

How quickly do the campsites fill up? The first groups argument is that the first capsite open is the best one to be at and they reckon it will fill up by the time we get there at about half 1

I really need some advice because train tickets will need to be booked very soon

Any help is much appreciated, what do people think?

Thanks

That is the most sensible option and is what most people coming from Barca (which I'm assuming you are) will be doing The site fills up quickly but not THAT quickly and just like any other festival if you arrive late you have to be a bit cheeky about where you put your tent.

Saying that if you got some mates who are daft enough to want to sleep on the streets let them and make them take your tent and erect it too so you don't have to. (and while they are at it get some nice cold beers in and have lunch ready awaiting your arrival. ha ha.)

Yeah we are coming from barca sorry...so do you get wristbands and stuff that only allow you into certain campsites or anything? i had heard that you get bands according to whichever site you are allocated...what im asking really is, if they take our tent, can we just waltz in and sleep in it even if we have different bands or whatever

You are pretty much too old now, at 34 you'll find it too hot by far for your gout, the lively chatter of all the youngsters will drive you insane and half a glass of wine will reduce you to a blubbering wreck.

Gout! Why Joey I think maybe you are mistaking me for another argumentative baldy.

Sterident for me false teeth.

Deep heat for those rhumatic aches and pains.

Special orthopedic inflatable blow up bed.

Incontinence pants.

Tin foil.

Mobility Aids - https://www.bin-to.co.uk/product_info.php?product_id=106

Gramophone for playing my Glen Miller 78s till the wee small hours - 8pm.

You know that sort of thing.

There are lockers, but I've never used them so couldn't really comment on how safe/unsafe they might be. Just don't take anything worth nicking that won't fit in your pocket.

what he said.

Theres places on each camp site where you can leave bags etc but they charge you every time you leave stuff there.

Ive never used them just kept passport etc on you at all times, get yourself a small bag or money belt. And as with all festivals, dont take anything valubale that you dont need to. Having said that ive never had any problems or heard of any thefts from tents etc
