Early days i know, but I am going to invest in a trolley or sack truck this year as i will have my daughter with me and its going to be either a bigger tent or 2 tents and lots more to carry. I don't bring booze in with me at all, prefering to buy on site so ts just to carry the camping gear ect. i am looking for something fairly light, not too expensive, and a must is that it will cope with the load and be easy to handle. Are pneumatic tyres best? any suggestions on what and where to buy.

Cheap fishing tackle dealers. You can buy trolleys and barrows used for carp fishing. would be ideal for the purpose. I have one that collapses down quite small.

As for the tyres I would imagine pneumatic would be better if the ground (god forbid) is a little soft.

You will regret buying cheap, ask talullah about her amazing cheap trolley which turned into a gate stop :)

Put in "heavy duty garden trolley" in the search facility on eBay. That's the one we got and will be buying a second one for next year, it was amazing and worked really well, this is it in it's various jobs during Glasto 2008.

Do a search on the forum, there's a huge trolley thread from last year covering everything in detail and with lots of pictures.

The 13 quid sack trolley is the bee's knees, frankly. I buggered my back up on the Sunday last year and could hardly walk let alone carry my bags back to the car, so the truck managed all the camping gear and both rucksacks happily.

Make sure you buy LOADS of bungee ropes though! We got ours from GO Outdoors and they were dead cheap - I think Wilkinsons have them too.

there not expensive either - go to your local one and their in the builders yard !

if u lived close id get u a 20 percent discount being an employee and all haa !

I have had one of these and they are great until..

you try to fit it in your car, check first.

and then don't take off a wheel to get it to fit on the back seat of the car (as i did last year) as the ball bearings fall out of the wheel bearing rendering the whole sack trolley useless! :) Next stop the dump!

I would get one again, but beware the above.

Oh god same happened to me managed to fit in footwell in back of car but dragged the trolley out and the pin had fallen out but thankfully by some small miracle found it near the door - I gaffer taped the pin after that and wd recommend this as does fall out way too easily

Still a good trolley though!

The down side to having a trolley is you take looooooaaddds more stuff, cos you can, but you still have to wheel it a mile or 2.

i bought a foldable trolley from homebase for 20 squid. used it at vfest in staffs, packed way to much stuff on it and nearly had a heart attack after about 30mins! worked awesome downhill, but any slight incline your stuffed. had to drag mine back through the mud at v as the wheels got clogged up mud and all kinds of crap. lets face it if your gonna bring loads of stuff like me, your gonna struggle with it whether you carry it or wheel it.

I got fishing wheelbarow for last year and it was brilliant. It's like this one - but cheaper from Argos.

I'm thinking of pimping it next year with these babies -

30cm_wheeleez_wheel.jpg

they look they business.

Actually if anybody's got unlimited funds the website that they're from produces some quality goods -

Humpalumpa , stuff designed with surfers, fishermen in mind IE can go over any terrain including wet sand.
