Veggie food?

I'm a die-hard omnivore for 360 days a year, but seriously, the veggie food is SO excellent at Glasto I end up eating that all the time. Manic Organic do fantastic breakfasts and their curries come with THE best mango chutney in the universe. Buddhafields do a special every day (lasagne, curry, chili etc) as well as excellent burgers (on home made bread), jacket spuds, cooked breakfast and the like, on real plates with real cutlery, and if you're skint they'll feed you a good meal for an hour or two's washing up. Also good is Thali Cafe - fab breakfasts.

With 'apologies' to all the veggies, I'm also still quite partial to the occasional bit of dead animal I'm afraid, but the veggie food at Glasto is absolutely brilliant in range, quality and price. You're pretty much spoilt for choice providing that you venture away from the main stages and immediate market areas, the further you go, the better it gets. Apart from bacon rolls and oggies, just about everything else I eat every year is veggie. In fact, it has to be said that I eat way better at Glasto than at any other time of year TBH ! Anyone who says veggie stuff is boring, bland, generally not nice or whatever clearly hasn't ever tried it from somewhere decent. Yet another good thing Glasto has introduced me to. yum.yum.yum lick.gif

There was a great thread before this year's festi which ended up with a list (and even a map !) being produced detailing all the best veggie offerings on site. I can't seem to find it at the mo but if anyone else can remember the thread and locate it then maybe we can have a resurrection and add any new discoveries. I'm always up for recommendations for new places to check out  Glasto might be 8 months away but if we can have headliner threads et al then it can't be too soon to start The Good Food Guide either

Oh my God! The vegetarian food is amazing at Glastonbury! Veggie breakfast from the cafe that I try and remember the name of every year, remember and then forget again. Anyway it is in the Green Fields and it is an amazing breakfast. Now what's the cafe called again?!?! Their real life cafe is near where my new job is and i have been meaning to go for a while.

Ok, I know everyone else has already said all that needs saying, but I can't help but chime in here!

As a vegetarian you are going to have the greatest time at Glasto as far as food is concerned! I'm veggie and have never found anywhere else where there is so much choice and so much deliciousness! It's like some kind of food haven for vegetarians!

As others have said, stick to the Greenfields and you won't be disappointed... There is a huge choice of breakfasts, pizzas, curries, sandwiches, burgers, stir-frys, cakes and snacks, and so much more - and all of it veggie, home-made, and completely gorgeous. I eat so so well throughout the whole festival!

Definitely don't bring much food with you - it'll just be more to have to carry home again

Vegetarian food at Glastonbury is top notch. I tend not to eat meat while at the festival, opting for the more tasty vegetarian alternatives!

These days I find myself turning more and more vegetarian, hardly ever eating meat. I don't think I could ever give up bacon sandwiches though ;)

Is there any discussion of vegetarianism or veganism, anywhere in the world, ever, anywhere, or anywhere on the Interweb at any time, where some sneering, finger pointing, point scoring arehole doesnt waltz in to gleefully accuse vegans or veggies of being 'hypocrites'??? :):):):)

Hypocrisy hunting and consistency insisting? Do fukk off, there's a twat .... ;)

I'm 100% strict vegetarian and I have never found it a problem finding decent veggie food at Glasto.

The only problem I do have is deciding where to eat and how I'm going to shift that excess 5 -6lbs that I always seem to gain at Glasto.

Manic Organic do a mean veggie breakfast, green futures do the nicest pakora. The garlic kitchen is a haven for garlic loving veggies (such as my self) ohh I can taste the garlic mushrooms

I find that a nice veggie oggie warms you up on those chilly Glasto nights as well.

Honestly, the range of veggie foods is staggering! I don't bother bringing food with me anymore!

Trust me, you won't go hungry!!
