There are some acts on the list that I know are great fun but, even as a reduced size event, it couldn't possibly justify 100 odd quid.

I think probably Sunrise is one of the least lineup dependent festivals... still I'm surprised a couple of 'biggies' haven't been revealed.

Endorse it at 65 quid, with Dreadzone, Zion train and Pama Int - gets my vote every time.

Hey y'all,

Yeah, the line-up isn't as full of names as previous years, but there's still more to come, including a mystery headliner.

The event is smaller this year than previously...we're still recovering and want to build back up sustainably. Thats not to say the event's quality is going to suffer, its not. We just feel that 2009 is a year to work with our friends and family, and to recreate the event with a more participatory feel.

£100 may seem a lot until you realise that literally 1/7th of the entire event budget is going on security and another 7th on tracks and wet weather provision! To put it into perspective, only 1/7th of the entire festival budget goes on Creative Production....the rest is on licensing, infrastructure, insurance, fees and much much more. We also have the joy of lots of swapped tkts to 09 from 08 with no income to match, and a much reduced markets income for the same reasons.

But as I say, what will be provided will be as beautiful as ever. Its about more than just the music!

6 stages with the best in world beats, Gadjo frenzies, front-line Folk, Reggae, Dub, Ska, Electronica, Psy Trance, Dubstep and more.

Further Line-uUP Development:

PAMA International - www.myspace.com/pamainternational

Introducing Pama International; ROOTS ROCKERS REGGAE - soul-fueled & dub-induced for the 21st century, fronted by Sean Flowerdew, Finny and Lynval Golding (The Specials/Fun Boy 3), alongside members of PWEI, Galliano and Bentley Rhythm Ace.

Pama Intl, have released 5 acclaimed albums, recorded 2 Radio One Sessions, played at Glastonbury, Bestival, Womad, Wickerman, Beautiful Days & many more festivals. They've performed with Jimmy Cliff, Prince Buster, Lee Perry, Skatalites, Toots & The Maytals, Mad Professor, Mick Jones' Carbon/Silicon & Madness, creating a huge grassroots following, with a live show that has become second to none.

“the best live roots band I’ve ever seen” FACT magazine.

2006 saw them become the first new band in 30 years to sign to the legendary Trojan Records. The resulting release boasted a classic line-up of vintage ska and reggae guests including; Rico Rodriguez, Dennis Alcapone, Dawn Penn, Derrick Morgan and the first recording since the 1970's from Dave & Ansel Collins, and immediately won global praise.

“YOU'D swear blind this CD was a compilation of forgotten reggae gems from the 70s. A wondrous revelation of an album. **** out of 5” Daily Star

"a mouth watering slice of authentic Club Ska cool for the 21st Century. **** out of 5" Music-news.com

"10 out of 10....Seriously it is that good" FFRUK.com

“Neither too modern or too retro, it blends classic ska and reggae rhythms with a double shot of dub” Record Collector

Getting back to their deep-rooted DIY philosophy they’ve launched their own Rockers Revolt label. Mixed by John Collins (producer of The Specials iconic Ghost Town) and featuring guest appearances from Rico Rodriguez, Sir Horace Panter (The Specials) and Top 10 hit-maker Michie One, their new album Love Filled Dub Band, has already received airplay from 54 (and counting) stations/DJs, including; Radio One; Rob Da Bank, Chris Goldfinger & Mike Davies, Radio 2-Steve Lamacq, David Rodigan, Gary Crowley, Charlie Gillet, BBC6; Don Letts & Shaun Keaveny, xfm-Jon Kennedy plus live sessions at Abbey Road and on Craig Charles' BBC6 Funk & Soul show. Reviews have been equally as enthusiastic...

Hey All,

We are very proud to be providing a screening of the new blockbuster movie - Age of Stupid - at Sunrise this year.

Age of Stupid is the film making waves across the world, depicting a future where humanity decided to carry on on its self-destructive path and Do Nothing. It tells the story of what happened, as Climate Change and Peak Oil brought the world to its knees.

Hey, even The Sun is into it:-

The Guardian: "The first successful dramatisation of climate change to reach the big screen."

Attitude Magazine: "One of the most important films you can see this year".

New Statesman: “Anything but a good-guys-versus-bad-guys polemic. It is angry but nuanced, despairing but strangely motivating.”

Watch a Trailer here:- http://www.ageofstupid.net/video/trailer

Age of Stupid will show on the Green Innovations Cinema at 00.30am on Saturday May 30th (Friday night!)
