I think it was the ideal condition, I'm confused as saw Long range at Glade and ideal condition at Big Chill, but could be the other way round! They had an 10 piece orchestra and did a over of the box, which was ace.

Yep, i live a couple of miles from Birmingham airport, it took me under an hour to drive to BC last year, it's about 50 miles i think

It's in the Malvern hills ..... for you, coming down from Scotland, you'd go just south of Brum on the M6, then along the M50 towards Wales for 10-20 miles.

Music is varied - there's a fair bit of electronic dance music (but not all as up-tempo as at the likes of Creamfields), along with plenty of live acts of varied styles (tho nothing too rawkus) from rock to (nu)folk-ish.

I was, one of my least-favourite performances of an admittedly very good festival. Good but not fantastic IMO. Eat Static, Dreadzone and Subgiant all went down better with me in that tent that year. They ended on an Orbital song though, do you remember which one?

Bought tickets this morning. Last year was my first trip to the Big Chill and I loved it. Can't wait. Looking forward to seeing Orbital and Calexico off the list so far.

Was maybe going to go to see Orbital, but Rockness is far closer...

I'm guessing that there will be coaches laid on (same as previous years), probably leaving from central Birmingham but that's easy to get to from the airport (Birmingham International station is next to it and there's a direct train)

Or alternatively there's a direct train service from central Birmingham (New Street station) to Great Malvern and shuttle buses will be laid on from there to the festival i'm sure.

If you hang around here i'm sure more information will be available nearer the time (and maybe the chance of a lift share from Birmingham )

Trying to work out travel logistics now for what festivals I have booked, rest are pretty easy though apart from Big Chill.

So would I be best to either fly/train to Birmingham then work it from there?

I'd say so yes, particularly as you might be able to blag a lift off someone (i live about 3 miles from the airport).

Looks like the camping fields have been juggled around this year and you need to buy a coloured car park ticket for your chosen field.
