t8yman
Glenn Close is spectacular in Damages. Ploughing through second series of The Following... ooh, you must be bored? Hated it in every possible way. especially the massively inept police/FBI!
bunique
We're in a bit of a TV black hole at the moment, nothing's holding our attention. It is utter tripe, isn't it? You can see it in Bacon's eyes...
DomDom1984
The Following is genuinely one of the worst TV shows ever. Oh, and MTV are capable of some cracking TV. Death Valley was magnificent. Awkward is really good as well.
Winslow Leach
About to watch the last episode of fargo. Bloody brilliant so far. Indeed it was, what did you think of the finale?

Awkward is really good as well. The first season of Awkward was farily good but then it turns into crappy generic tween show afterwards. I miss MTV animations, they had shows like Daria, Downtown, Aeon Flux etc which were genuinely great and intresting regardless of being a cartoon. I disagree, its not escapist fun, its full of plot holes, poor writing, and terrible premise. and as a result infuriating to watch. its such cheap writing. bunique made me chuckle with "you can see it in Bacon's eyes"

viberunner
The Following is genuinely one of the worst TV shows ever. I watched the first season stuck with it to the end. Utterly ridiculous, of course, but somehow managed to enjoy it on it's own terms. It helps the lead actor (James Purefoy) in eminently watchable. I think I would watch TV show where each week he eats a different kind of sandwich and muses on the condiment-to-filling taste and texture balance. Couldn't stand S2 or S3. Just a few episodes of each was too much. Everyone on that show who is not played by James Purefoy needs to be killed by fire. luckysalt is completely correct Scream the TV series is excellent. Enjoyed the build-up of characters, the usual "classroom meta" talking about how TV and films work differently for horror, etc. etc. LOTS of potential with this one. Spindles
I've really been enjoying the brink and will be interested to see how the second series of the strain comes out (I read the books, which were cheesy as hell and the series has certainly managed to convey that). philipsteak
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uj5Nt-HoBhw HBO, David Simon, Oscar Isaac staring (as well as a hell of a cast), compelling true story. This has potential. 'From the director of Crash' Dammit! Going so well up til then Edited July 13, 2015 by philipsteak

luckysalt
Just watched the first ep of Season 2 of the Strain. HMMMM. Wasn't great.
gary1979666
Just watched the first ep of Season 2 of the Strain. HMMMM. Wasn't great. S1 started really well, but I had to give up after about 6 episodes. Speaking of terrible TV- watched the first episode of the Transporter series - the film wasn't great and this was shocking. Won't be back for Ep 2. Am really enjoying the Brink too.
Spindles
The strain is brilliantly bad. I can't believe I watch it. I came across the novels a few years ago, they were the kind of junk fiction that filled 50p baskets at WH Smiths in the 80s that I'd buy a handful of when I went on holiday and I read them while recovering from surgery and stuck in a bed. The TV show is...well, it's awful, but for some reason I keep going back and watching it. I've just started watching Orange is the new black, having heard everyone raving about it for so long. Didn't realise it was Jenji Kohan, I loved Weeds and can see why people are hooked.

I only started watching it cos the guy from Breaking Bad is in it and even he's awful. Proper, full on scenery chewing baddie. If anything it's getting worse as it goes on. If it got cancelled tomorrow I wouldn't even notice, never mind care. But for some reason, I keep watching the damn thing
DomDom1984
Under the Dome lost me about half way through Season 2, but apparently it's hit new levels of batshit mental, so I might go back.

Yep. It has. But with an even lower budget than before. (understandable. I assume I'm the only person left watching it) I honestly didn't think it was possible these days to do CGI as bad as some of the stuff on Under the Dome. Don't go back. You got out. Save yourself
DomDom1984
I like crazy bad though, compared to the plain bad we got before.
viberunner
Watched the pilot/premier of Man in the High Castle, an Amazon Prime original based on the Philip K Dick "what if the Axis had of won" sci-fi novel of the same name. It's excellent and quickly shows-up Under The Dome to be the capsule of shite it really is. Has been "picked up" and the rest of the season will start to show this autumn. Under the Dome doesn't need anything put up against it to show that it's shite. Manages that all by itself.
