just wondering if anybody had any idea how this waiting list thing works? and if it is likely people on it will get tickets?

i know very little about rock werchter but i'm determined to go!

i'm not gonna lie, seeing limp bizkit in what was already a classy line up swayed it for me.. :(

Lots of tickets get re-sold because people's credit card get declined/people return tickets etc, so if your name is on the waiting list, i'd say you have a good chance of getting tickets.

Also check the GoForMusic website though, as they could just release more tickets as they've done before.

Oh and have a look out on the Rock Werchter forums, theres always people selling tickets there.

Goodluck!

from the website:

Ticket profiteering is dealt with even more intensively thanks to technological improvements. Every ticket is bar-coded and scanned at the entrance of the Festival Park. Tickets that turn out to have been resold, will be blacklisted and its holder denied entrance to the festival ground. Festival-goers are urged not to buy tickets from the secondary market, since there is no guarantee that these tickets are valid, which may result in a denial of access. So be sure not to buy tickets from auction sites or second-hand ticket sites like Budgetticket or Onlineticketshop.

again just wondering if this was something that happened last year too and if therefore someone could shine a light on it, i mean how does it work?

because i was thinking og checking on sites like scarletmist and stuff, which i don't really think is a problem i mean if i couldn't go i'd rather pass my ticket on to someone who could (retail value, like on sites as those) but this seems to suggest they're pretty strict on that, yet i can't see how you could tell from a barcode, again does anyone know the answer to this?

cheers! xx

I was looking forward to go this year as I really enjoyed it last year, but the tickets seem to have sold out far faster than last year. My mate managed to get a combi ticket last year in mid May!

Do anyone think it was because of the Oasis and Coldplay factor? People can say what they want about them but they sell sh*t loads of tickets.

I think we're off to Pukkelpop or Lowlands now

What I generally meant was that Oasis and Coldplay are probably the biggest ticket sellers.

Having went last year I do know that Werchter has about 2 headliners a day but don't really agree that Nine inch nails or Kaiser Chiefs could headline a 'big' festival.

I just thought that the reason why they have so many big names is because of the lack of other stages or things to do other than the music. I'm not trying to Werchter because last year was great and the bands playing this year are good as well just suprised that they sold out so fast.

RW is a very good festival i must say.. benn there last year but decided to go somewhere else this year mainly not to spend money on the same festival and secondly cause oasis and coldplay where they aren' t really my cup of tea. Only things ill miss this year from RW are Fleet Foxes and Rodrigo u Gabriela.. (Flaming Lips although the dropped out)... I rememebr last year Beirut called off they visit to RW and i was absolutely gutted! Never been so upset in my life... As regarding to big bands... well most festivals have the same amount of headlimers as RW have... but as someone mentioned before having less stages can only make good for clashes, which imho is a brilliant idea though i cant imagine the likes of Killers, Oasis, Kings of Leon just co headlining and other big names like Limp Bizkit, Placebo, White Lies, Franz , YYY's further down the bill. Way tooo many big names for me.. Thats why I chose less big names and loads of smaller bands this year! Goodluck too everyone going to RW for the very first time.. it will be a blast of an experience

I just got a ticket for this :P was off ebay, but reckon i should be alright as it was ebay uk and not the belgan version, had all the info blanked out and had only been listed an hour, some kind person put it on for 200 with camping, i'm not gonna scoff at paying a tenner over the odds with a lineup like this!

fact: going on ebay when you're hungover is a more expensive habit than crack!
