Knebworth festival?

Basicaly i was on metal hammers website(heavy metal magazine) and saw this

The first big name to be rumoured for next year’s Download festival is…

Virtual Festivals are reporting The Prodigy as a strong rumour for next year’s Download festival. At the current point in time, this is the only name being touted for the festival while rumours also continue to swill about a July festival set to take place at Knebworth featuring Metallica, Muse and Red Hot Chili Peppers as headliners.

I was after the download info but this thing at knebworth may be interesting...

fits in with what coldplay said about knebworth being unavailable for any other gigs in 2009 though i was under the impression the chili peppers were on a long term hiatus

I read just yesterday on the Muse forums on their official site that they had been approached about this.

Only approached thou, nothing sure yet. I'd think the Chili's would have been approached too (that was mentioned on the forums as well), but doubt they'll do it since they seem to be taking a break.

Something's brewing, but does England need another big festival? The Glastos, Downloads and V's are struggling to sell out as it is.

If Knebworth allowed campers i'd seriously be amazed. Really can't see it, I know for a fact they care about the land there, and they wouldn't want campers wrecking the place. A 1 or 2 day fest seems more likely.

Thinking about this again, Neil referred to a mega fest with huge corporate backing arriving on the scene next year, could this be just such a fest, Mcdonalds and starbucks as far as the eye can see.

Really love this to happen, Metallica and Muse = Pure win. Just hope other festivals wont suffer.
