Lots of people proportion blame at the stewards, organisers & police but it's quite easy for festivalgoers to police themself. The vast majority of people don't want the trouble & want to be able to crash out without risk of some drunken child falling into their tent. I'm amazed that people have tolerated it for this long tbh as that's part fo the problem, it's now expected. If it looked like someone was going to f**k up your car/property etc at home you wouldn't stand for it. The comment by some little prick earlier in the thread 'We only took a slingshot to fire yoghurt' - What?? If you hit me or my lady with yoghurt I'd stamp on your f**king head!! Even if you were camping near me & I saw you diong it to other people I'd definately ask you to stop & if you persisted I'd do something about it. People often talk about the 'festival spirit', IMO the 'festival spirit' is all about a group of strangers who share a common interest, brought together, often in less than great conditions, all there to have a good time & watch as many great musicians as possible. The power of peer pressure shouldn't be underestimated & if people started speaking up the number of injuries etc would soon drop......rant over.

I found it was people of all ages causing trouble. A bloke in his mid twenties was trying to encite people to burn down my tent for no reason and there was also someone my age (17) throwing other peoples chairs onto a fire.

Its not fair to make any sorts of generalisations as to who causes the trouble either as from what I just said, it really can be any twat looking for attention.

In regards to slingshots I think they're fine as long as they are only used for water bombs which is only what I saw them being used for. I saw the occasional piece of fruit which may have been quite funny but still really dangerous and should be avoided.

Nothing but a bunch of pointless aggression imo. To many drunk idiot's who didn't really have any idea why they were supposed to be there, f**king up the weekend for everyone else. I believe this has been discussed before at length.

Good attitude. As an 18 year old myself (been going since I was 13) I get really annoyed with accusations that all us teens are there to get pissed and burn stuff. It's a small minority, and in my experience, it's the late 20s types trying to impress people and desperately avoid growing up that cause most the trouble.

not my fault you're a bunch of moaning pansies who can't lighten up and enjoy themselves. honestly, all i ever see on this forum is people f**king whinging about festivals for one reason or another. you moan about prices, yet you continue to pay them, you moan about kids causing trouble but all you do about it is moan on the internet, then you moan that nobody does anything about it. you moan about the bands playing but you go anyway. i've never said that ruining other people's property or whatever is acceptable, it's childish and stupid. but i've been to the festival 6 times, the first in 1999, and i've had an amazing time every time. even last year when i got robbed of 60 quid, i'm not gonna let some thieving little pikey ruin my weekend. christ, i'm probably the most pessimistic person you'll meet, but at least i can enjoy myself without crying because some pissed posh kid jumped on my tent.
