Bath is closer to glasto than bristol, its about 30mins in the car, something like that.

Meesh and her +1 could get from bristol to bath on the train, depending on from which way her train comes into bristol, it may even go through bath (the standard london - bristol trains all go through bath) but I dont know if you are going via London from Up north or not....

Once we are all in at the old oaks on Monday Im quite happy to go and pick people up from bristol/bath wherever between then and tuesday evening. Just let me know if needed.

Hello! Been trying to find out what's the approximate time plan for events at the Solstice... it is more of an organic event than something planned so it's a little hard to tell... BUT generally speaking thoughts are that the Kings Drummers will be there around 7pm and we certainly want to be there for that!

As for heading our weary way back to the campsite I think the sunrise ceremony will all be over about 5:30am. Certainly last year most people were making their way back home and to tents about that time.

Hombe I've sent you a pm on what that could mean re: arranging the taxi. Let me know if you need any help!

ALSO check out www.aveburycircular.co.uk! I'm plugging it shamelessly because my friend created it :unsure:;) ... but it does have good info on Solstice times and up and coming events there

So.. I'll probably be picking up Meesh and co at Castle Cary on the way to Glasto town. Hopefully the times will be ok to pick up Superdry.

Times to be confirmed soon.

Strudders, what B&B have you chosen and can you recommend it? Or maybe there is reason you dont want to divulge such information

Since we are getting lifts etc sorted out, best try sort this out too.. 5 weeks on Saturday

How many people who are staying at Avebury have cars? And how many are going to Old Oaks on the Monday

I count 5 cars (I think), so with 17 of us camping there, plus I believe FFC and her partner are not, so that would leave 15 of us between 5 cars?

If so then we will all manage no problem to move west towards Glastonbury on the Monday morning.

True

Even 3 in mine is full, but as long as we get 3 in each and distribute the luggage we should be fine

Sorry we're not heading to Old Oaks (have to pop home for a couple of days to feed cats, hens etc)

...otherwise we'd be more than happy to carry people or luggage

We'll be heading from Newbury to the campsite on Saturday - along the A4. Can we pick anyone on route?

Ok, silly question...what are the plans for food with the gathering?

It's just that while me and Le Chockster were in Oz, we travelled for a while with extra people in a van and I took to cooking some mean big pots of casserole/potato stylee bakes/spag bols etc for the group. All meals were filling, tasty and pretty quick and apart from the washing up, noone else had to lift a finger unless they offered.

We had an idea that if you's lot wanted (and as long as at least 2 portable gas cookers were brought along, a couple of big pots and a fry pan came along in someone's cars), I would put myself forward as camp cook.

If you think it's a reasonable idea, please say so. There's 17 of us coming? I could attempt (with enough warning) some kind of menu plan and if everyone agreed, then each of the 17 would probably/possibly be given a specific food item to bring OR once we are settled at The Barge, create a food money pot and one car pops off to Tosco's to buy the food.

I know the booze order is probably higher on most folks lists but as Chocky and I discussed this morning, we do all have to consider how easy we have to take it those first few days before the fest and a decent hot meal+brekky for one and all every morning and night is a good start to being less wrecked before the Big G.

Once we get to Glasto, the title of camp cook ceases tho. It's Tartiflette and Pauline Fowler Growler's on the menu for me! :D

good plan Lucy, and well volunteered! :D

I reckon easiest thing would be for us all to arrive on the saturday afternoon, and then get a shopping trip done then. I'm gonna book the taxi to avebury for 7pm by the way, just havent done it yet.

If I deffo move to Exeter sometime in the next week, I'll be heading to Pewsey station (as directed by the campsite's website). Is that en route? Website mentions a bus so that's what I am currently planning on using but if there's a lift going past, I will gladly take up space in a car!
