I'd be more than happy with Guns n Roses even if others wouldn't be.

Surely if Green Day were supposed to be playing and pulled out Festival republic would have some kind of back up plan?

Can't be any worse than Bowie pulling out of T and The Darkness getting punted up a place!

May be the situation Reading find themselves this year. Time is surely running out, and I can't think of many bands around at the moment that have that 'wow' factor. Green Day wern't exactly an inspired choice.

Personally I think they should go in for NIN, won't get the biggest crowd but have released 2 albums since their last performance, hardly played anything off Year Zero anyway and by the sounds of it could be the last chance for some time to see them in their current format. Obviously wouldn't happen, but would make me happy

NIN playing would make my year! But I can't see it happening plus going off last time they played Leeds they would get the worst headliner crowd in history not that having the biggest crowd means you are good.

I won't be happy if Axl Rose and backing band are playing.

I walked past on my way to see Ash headline the NME stage and the crowd was ok for Razorlight though I did read that it got less and less as they played.

I intrended to leave for ash after KOL but EVERYBODY else had the same Idea and I was able to get to the front without any trouble at all. It was pretty entertaining but they are just souless and bland. They want to be a stadium band, but there is no way.

Complete speculation, but I know of only one headline status band with nothing booked who would probably play at the drop of a hat regardless of what they have said to the contrary. Foo Fighters. It just feels like an easy quick fix for the organisers.
