Since you changed the site, this takes ages for me on both my laptop at home and both the PCs I use at work. Any reason/Anything I can do?

it's faster for me, and everyone else that's mentioned speed to me has only said 'faster' and not 'slower' ...... up until you of course.

It's possible that your browser cache is corrupted - have you tried clearing your cache? That might sort it out.

It's also possible that you have your browser set to cache nothing (which would certainly slow things down). Have you?

Outside of that I'm not sure what the issue might be.

somewhere in your browser options (it varies browser to browser) there's "clear private data" or "delete temporary files" - that is your cache.

I believe they have. The word 'clunky' has been used in fact.

actually, you're correct - there had been one other comment.

But it has been more than countered by many opposite comments and the reality that the forums are running faster. There have been 4 separate changes made to what is sent to any user of these forums with the change to the new layout, and the improvement in speed for a user via these changes is indisputable even if that is not your personal experience. If that is not your personal experience then your personal experience is not the result of the change of layout here.

Remember, what you as a user experience is not fully within my control, nor is what you have responsibility for an unmoving constant. I can only work with the things that are within my control, and these *HAVE* been improved with the new layout.

These ads down the side are really pissing me off.

but I'd guess less than not having the ads and not having the forums.

If I were to offer an ad-free skin for those prepared to pay a fee, would that be something you'd go for? Or do you just want a free lunch?

Yes there can, just as there can be something wrong with what you believe to be the case &/or where the responsibility lies for why you have that belief.

this is the first I've heard of this problem and I strongly suspect the issue is something at your end and not anything to do with these forums.

But so I can be sure of this, can you please provide the URL of any of the topics you can't get to load?

all loaded perfectly fine on first click for me.

Have just checked the forum error logs, and there's nothing in there either.

Have also just gone into your account and re-saved the details. I've done this because it cured a past error caused by the deletion of some MyFestival Groups, tho I know that error has been addressed previously and shouldn't still exist (tho it might still do) .... but when that error was happening previously it caused error logs to be generated which isn't happening now.

Must admit its quite slow for me, particularly in the evenings.

I'm using Firefox and sometimes when i open a forum or a sub form, the page half loads and then sits there for a few minutes (mainly with a white screen below the efestivals blue menu) and I have to hit reload and then the rest will appear. I was having this issue sometimes in the previous version of the website.

It seems to be data from ad.uk.doubleclick.net that takes the longest. Even as I am typing this post out, it is still "Transferring data from ad.uk.doubleclick.net".

Not a major problem, but a heads up nonetheless.
