Tugger2k
I'll meet you at Glasto and we can help each other. I'll hide from all the Springy brigade and I'll help you hide from the blood thirsty Floyd brigade
Wooderson
Never been a big fan but as he's supposed to be Saturday night headliner I thought I'll have a listen. Got a hold of the best of cd and if that's his best then I would hate to hear his worst Sounded like a cross between Huey Lewis and Meatloaf. No idea why folks would get worked up at the thought of seeing him but no accounting for individual taste. Did hear some folks going on about how his shows lasted up to 4 hours, which would be a bloody awful prospect. Give him the oldies slot on the Sunday afternoon and get Radiohead or Muse to give Glasto some quality on the Saturday
Red Day
Just trying to add a little spice. Haven't heard a good Radiohead Rant since eFestivals Radiohead Day a couple of months back

Wooderson
Oh no, I'll be there. Plan is to get a flag about 100m square and get right down the front. Hopefully that'll save everyone behind from having to watch the Buss Edited January 16, 2009 by Wooderson
Josie's Cat
Not saying Springsteen is great either, but for a festival headliner I think he might be more cheerful. Dunno why they can't get some up to date bands though, really. Blur are ancient and only reforming for the cash, so blatant. Oasis have had their time, Codplay are like vanilla blancmange. Someone exciting, with a big gutsy sound, that hasn't been around for decades might be good. I am having trouble thinking of anyone though...maybe that's the problem. Red Day
the band you are looking for is AC/DC now that would have REALLY shaken things up!!
Josie's Cat
Perhaps I am judging them by one album or song or whatever then - but when someone says "Radiohead" I just have Thom Yorke's droning voice and his rather miserable face looking at his shoes in my head. At least I can hum a couple of Springsteen tunes. Bit of melody and such. But I might be misjusdging radiohead severely, I haven't really heard their latest stuff. Josie's Cat
Hmm yeah, AC/DC might have a big sound and have a good show - someone like them then, only less...old. Where are the big bands of the 2000's? That aren't thin indie noodlers?

Petewasbristol
I have only been into Springsteen for a good few months now (Since he was rumoured, I thought I would check him out in more depth). I have to say after continuous listens he has become a must for me at Glasto, its his Lyrics that do it for me, they are just something I can really connect with. Give me Springsteen and Young over anything such as the (Yawn) Killers and Arctic Monkeys anyday. Fave Bruce song: Brilliant Disguise (Anyone know if he plays this on his tours?) Josie's Cat
Brilliant Disguise - TUNE! Such a good track, agree with what you say about the lyrics. Not a "whoooo haaaa!" festival song though!!
