The Nal
Any news on these boys Neil? Touring Spain and Portugal in May and June, not returning to the US until July it seems. Surely they'd be perfick before Neil Young? They've played a few shows recently with him. They have only played Glasters in 04 as far as I know. They've also recently added a "request a song" feature to their website, (which is shit cool by the way), where you can choose what show youre going to and request any song for that show, giving a valid reason. If they play, can we start a "Passenger Side" petition via the website? The Milkybars are on me if they end up playing it. Mardy
Good shout. I'm not a huge fan, but could be a real possibility I think
jollynolly
That would be fab, even better if they got Mr Bragg to join them and play some of the Woody Guthrie stuff

ralph250
I'm wondering whether the same could happen with death cab for cutie considering they, as well as wilco, were supporting Neil Young. Not played glasto yet either I don't think.
jish
They've played before that. Other Stage '99 on the friday at 6pm I thought the 2004 performance was great. That Fridaywas a lovely sunny day before the heavens opened on the Saturday!
Harrow Strongbow Ciderman!
I thought this was a thread about the LEGEND that is 'Wilco Johnson'!! A band called 'Wilco' from the USA?? I've never heard of them! Clearly I need to get out more!
tevaburger
with those gaps in their schedule I definitely think they could be returning...they supported Neil Young 2 nights at Madison Sq Garden in December.... there's always a possibility that Neil Young is one of the 4 headliners, but being moved to Saturday, with a big 4th headliner on friday ... a saturday with Boss, NYoung and Wilco all on pyramid would be fantastic...perhaps Wilco 4th down the bill or something. b26354
Oft referred to as the American Radiohead more for their musical meanderings as opposed to their musical style...in my opinion they are a better band than Yorke and co particularly in the live arena (cue a riot on e-festival forums). The lack of kudos regarding wilco across the UK is one of contemporary music's great mysteries. I for one hope radiohead play so these boys can make sh*t of them....and believe it or not i'm a very big radiohead fan.

The Nal
whatever the case i'm sure we are both in agreement that a 15 minute version of kidsmoke on a balmy friday evening would go down very nicely indeed.
VCK
I honestly doubt Wilco will play 2nd on the Pyramid Stage. Are they as well-known as The Fratellis, Amy Winehouse or Leonard Cohen?
pedmills
Didn't someone say that Kaiser Chiefs were definitely playing before Neil Young? Wilco seem to be a very 3rd-from-top band to me.

pedmills
I don't see why they couldn't play above Lily Allen??? Paolo Nutini played after her last time and Wilco have been around a lot longer.
pedmills
Actually I reckon I may have overestimated Wilco popularity in the UK, ah well
The Nal
Doesnt look like they'll be playing now. From the bands website to US fans: "So if you're pondering seeing the band this spring... you better act fast or contemplate booking a trip to Spain. Otherwise, it's "see you in June". They've a handful of Spanish dates announced for May/June but nowt apart from that. Presume they wouldnt be advising to book a flight to Spain if they were doing anymore Euro dates. On a more positive note though, new album out in June!

oysterboy
well to be fair, wilco has played ATP before, so they're not -that- unknown. we can still cross our fingers!
