The prices of food at Glastonbury i think have been a bit overpriced but not to bad on the whole. With the credit crunch now in full flow the prices of food and drink are going to rocket. How much of an increase are we looking at on larger and food i would say a 25% icrease your thoughts people.

Surely if people have less money to spend they'll cater to that?

I'd have thought the prices would be the same and that quality/quantity would fall.

I'm always too drunk to eat proper food at Glastonbury anyway - my one extravagance is a jamaican goat curry... damn good food.

If the price of Brothers rises I'll cry. It's the only chance of me getting one of my five a day.

To be honest I've always thought the food at Glasto is great and pretty cheap. Steer clear of the nasty burger vans next to the main stages and its all bloody marvellous.

Tartiflette, curried goat, pies.... oh god I want it all, now!

Wont eavis be charging more for a pitch at Glastonbury this years as they had money probloms last year. So he might want to charge more to recoup his loses. Also people see Glastonbury as a holiday so they can charge what they like cos its not like there is a tesco near the pyramid stage. If you dont bring your own food or drik you have to pay the going rate whatever it may be. Beer and cider will go up alot this year with the prices or barrells gowing up alot. im thinking close to £4.00 a pint.

I wouldn't be surprised if the beer prices go up, Carlsberg are providing the beer again this year and they've put their trade prices up by around 3% since last year, that's not counting the 8% duty increase Mr Darling introdused to balance the 2.5% vat reduction in December! Not sure about the cider though, I reckon Brothers are such a big part of the festival (whereas Carlsberg are only in it for the money) that they might try and hold prices. Bank on Carlsberg coining it in where they can though.

Moral of the story? Drink Cider!!! :)

Can only confirm, look away from all the stages for food, its a ddam site cheapeer, and miles better quality !

Not too bad around Jazz stage, but there was better and cheaper stil than this. Im not sharing any of my particular gems, as i want to be able to get in them again this year !

The recession / creit crunch / blip / depression (whatever the Sun is calling it today) will not have any direct bearing on food prices (in the abscence of big changes in the general price level). Food price is more determined by availability of supply.

I'd imagine prices will be the same or higher for Glastonbury.

Traders are greedy for profit and punters are neccesarily greedy for food. There's money in food. Demand is very inelastic. Particularly when cold and dirty in a field.
