Just saw this on the official site

There will be no box office of any kind. All tickets will be sent out to customers.

If you are an overseas customer that has purchased tickets from an OFFICIAL ticket agent (see list here), your tickets will be at The Hexagon in Reading.

If you do not have tickets when approaching the gates you will be sent away.

Don't they deny doing this every year, but never officially post it?

If not, its gonna suck, its so difficult to get tickets, i have mine but some of my mates might not, we've always used this as last resort if we didnt get tickets, as me and a few did in 2007

good or bad? will it stop the overcrowding? or will they do it anyway cos they're money hungry?

You have to believe it won't happen this year. 2008 was the year when finally, everyone had the same idea. Thousands of people besieged the box office without success. They won't want to go through that again. And credit crunch or not, I can't imagine this not selling out anyway. I'm glad I bought early bird tickets!

to be fair, what happened last year seemed relatively normal to festival goers. the crowds of people, the drinking/getting high by the road. everything really. but to the average person/the council, that is unacceptable.

i woulnd't be surprised if the council said enough is enough on selling tickets at the gates. and FR probably said, "yeah, thats fine, we can make just as much money selling thewm on the internet. this is an excuse not to bother with the hassle of selling them on the gate"
