Sam.
How on earth do organizers keep the lineup a secret??? By now it is fairly obvious they have their line-up at the ready, and are simply making us wait. We are 99% sure on Brucey, but really thats the only definite we have. But this makes me think back to other similar things such as... Leeds / Reading last year - We knew that Rage Against, Metallica, The Cribs, Tenacious D, The Killers etc were all going to be there, but how? Someone has leaked this somewhere, obv. Football - A transfer is NEVER a secret, even if player manager and both clubs want it to be. Someone always leaks the news at least a day before that the deal is done. Take Arsenal, I think it is clear to say no one on the Arsenal board wants anyone to know about Arshavin moving / not moving, yet everyone does. All your Celebrity Reality shows are the same, the cast / lineup is revealed ages before the actual shows start. The question is, how do Glastonbury organizers keep it a secret? Is it a tighter circle? Don't they book the artists until the day before an announcement?

Originalshez
Mate of mine is a freelance journalist, and he gets all his exclusives through simply talking to people. He uncovered a major transfer by a slip of the tongue when next to the manager at a urinal.

pedmills
Its probably do with the amount of time and effort put it. Newspapers need to fill sports sections and the number of people interested in football transfer is far greater than the people who want to know who is playing Glastonbury (which is pretty much restricted to just the people who have tickets). I'm sure if lots and lots of journalists were putting time and money into finding out the lineup we would probably know every act as soon as they are booked. glastofreak
TV and festivals need to sell something so information is leeked. The information leeked is therefore advertising.
halfpint
A couple of years ago i worked at hotel and there was paper work faxed through for a guest....covered in confindetia/not to be read by anyone. Well of course that promted us to read it and it was about a massive transfer that was supposedly secret (cant remeber the player now). When they do things like that things will never be kept secret!!
