Lineup released in June

Emily states on the front page that the lineup will be released come the start of june.

Im hoping now that the festival has sold out there is no need to release any headliner details, and that every act will be released as they use to do a week or so before the festival.

Infact i use to prefer not finding out who was on until i was looking through my programme.

There seems little no point in releasing headliner info early with it being sold out and a small allocation of tickets to be sold. These will go without any headliner info.

So please, please glasto hold your water and make us all wait!!!

I prefer it that way, makes it good for rumours and the alike for this forum

Also gives the guy from clashfinder somthing to get his teeth into, he has a big responsibility to us all to get it right, given no official stage times until the programme (Only joking mate!!)

The begining of June is not a week or so before the festival - so whatever, you're in for a disappointment. I think releasing the lineup is part of building hype, not necessarily amongst fesival goers, but amongst sponers and within the media. Glastonbury isn't just to please those who attend.

I do however agree with your sentiments. I've never been to Glastonbury when the lineup wasn't announced before, and I can imagine how exciting it must be getting the programme and finding out who is playing.

I think the lineup is usually printed in the Guardian a week before the festival takes place. I could be wrong about this though.

the line-up is announced to coincide with the July edition of Q Mag hitting newsagent's shelves, which is normally at the end of May/beginning of June. It gets printed in the Guardian the same day.

I think this is a much better idea. I remember in 2007 only having the rumours to go on and then going out and buying a copy of the guardian with the full line-up printed and getting all excited!

It's like somebody telling you what you are going to get for Christmas and then when when Christmas Day comes, you're pleased at what you've got but the excitement isn't that high because you knew. If you don't know exactly what you are getting for christmas then when you actually open your Christmas present the happiness and excitement goes through the roof!

Altough it would be very cool to only find out the lineup when you walk through the gates I always like to try and do my research on as many bands as I can. Personally I enjoy it more when I know the songs and gettging to know the smaller bands means I get to spend more time away from the Pyramid stage

This year, eFestivals is leading the way with info to help you do just that.

On the new-style line-up pages on this website we now have a link to an artist's MySpace (if they have one, which most do) right next to their listing.

The new-style line-up page for Glastonbury is here:-

I swear we will know at least a good 80% of all the bands playing before June by way of leaks, good detective work, and self confirmations. I agree with efests that they will almost certainly reveal the headliners before April so don't worry folks.

Oh by the way, just seen that Vampire Weekend have been added to the 'strong rumours' - any info on this? Saw them at the Other stage and John Peel last year, they were very very good!

BLAKES GOT A NEW FACE!!!!!
