Not playing download due to play a festival in America the same weekend. Anyone reckon this equals some hardcore NIN on the sunday? Or will they just skip the UK as there is no real other fest they'd fit in at is there? Perhaps T and IOW at a push?

I seriously doubt it, just because they played only two years ago (to small crowds) and haven't done anything that commercialy substantal since. I think there is a chance but on a list of who could play second on the sunday, they wouldn't be near the top for me.

tho i'd love it i'm not sure it'd happen.

Trent wasn't so complimentary about fests in general at the wolves show in 2007 just after reading/leeds

basically saying "It's so good to play a proper show, not shitty festival crap"

the only other UK fest i reckon they could do is Glasto which fits with the rumours of early summer for europe/uk...

they were good, but better in wolves just after the fest!

(and better still in brixton in 2005...)

but all round they are just one of those bands that are ALWAYS good live. :O

I read that Trent was disappointed with the crowd at Leeds who had gone to watch CSS or someone like that instead though he is well known to prefer to play his own shows rather than festivals in any country.

Anyone with any decent music taste would prefer to see NIN over KOL, Arctics and the overrated Radiohead.

Since Roskilde,Glastonbury haven't really had any 'heavy',successful bands grace their mainstage but NIN have performed there in the past and Trent has said it's a festival he admires likening it to Lollapalooza(sp?).

If they aren't at Download then i think Glastonbury is the only other festival they would play as i cannae see them coming to Reading again.

The amount that Trent pisses and moans about European festivals he does seem to be getting around a lot doesn't he. But I don't think theres a reason he would come back to Reading.

I'm just waiting for the UK tour dates he's promised.

i could see both lamb of god and NIN playign that knebworth show if metallica and linkin park are the headliners.

pendulum and enter shikari and slipknot are also names around for it and machine head.

Metallica, slipknot, machine head, amb of god one day fits

Linkin Park, NIN, pendulum and enter shikari on another does as well

theres been a few references to NIN playing to small crowds at reading/leeds in 2007.is my mind playing tricks on me?? i seem to remember a large crowd at reading witnessing an amazing live performance!! saying that,i had just been on the beer for 3 days so maybe im not a reliable source.

I was at CSS when NIN played, and I don't regret it. NIN are a pretty dull band live (though great if I'm in the right mood) but CSS in the NME tent was like a giant party, it was the most fun performance of the weekend.
