flibbitybob
I already mentioned this in another thread... But was just wondering if there are any good rumours of any reggae bands following the spectacular Jimmy Cliff and Eddy Grant last year? And of course the Marley brothers in 2007... I'm extremely happy that it seems like the Specials and Madness are likely to be there, but I thought it would be fun to discuss the possibility of some more bands that might fulfil my love of off-beats and desire to skank? Alcatraz
The Wailers are on tour in April(which I'll be seeing) so they're a possibility
timespeedsup
Discovered Israel Vibration a few weeks back, and very tasty too. But no idea if they're still going?

Brizzle
i said this in another thread but reggae is seriously under represented at glastonbury. im hoping for Barrington and Richie spice somehow doubt this.
timespeedsup
This is the problem, It receives so little recognition in new music, although I suppose a lot of it has dwindled down into dancehall. Mark Lamarr does a show during certain types of the year which is good, but there's just not enough new stuff being produced

Alcatraz
All true I suspect, but need to clarify that Israel Vibration were around in the late 70s and early 80s so hardly 'new'. How much actually-new reggae is out there?

blue&white
Nothing can compare to the sun beating down and some great reggae playing - yes, seems to be down to the old guys and they seem to be dropping fast.
sifi
I reckon Dreadzone might play ..... and isn't it about time we had Toots back?
maxhoyland
Dreadzone play pretty much every year, don't they? Toots would be sweet - I missed them in 2004, watching someone else (can't remember who though?!)

Brizzle
Natty (who is "new" reggae) played about 3 times over the weekend last year, managed to miss him every time. Laid Blak are also the business, seen them a few times though
BobbyG
Jimmy Cliff, Toots, Burning Spear, Abysinnians, Black Uhuru, Augustuc Pablo, The Wailers, any Marleys, Salmonella Dub, Matisyahu or the might Lee 'Scratch' Perry would all do me juuuuust fine. ToxicJesus
Last.fm says they're still going, albeit one of the original 3 has left. Yes please Glasto!
usatoglas
I am a regular at the brixton rec where the irration steppas adn abba shanti play so would be happy for one of their soundsystemes to make an appearance. Dreadzone always seem to play and are always worth a punt but I would love to see the Abyssinians on the jazzword stage

jodster
If you have the desire to skank you want to get yourself down to the Croissant Neuf Stage on the Friday and see 'The Communicators'. Check them out on www.myspace.com/thecomms

jodster
Promising! & always a pleasure to toddle on up to the Croissant Neuf stage. But it is ska and not the reggae we're discussing here. Either way, I would drop efestivals a line to say that you're self-confirming for Glasto, so that you can be added to the rumours page.
