New to rockness

Hi

I am planning on going to rockness this year for the first time and was just wondering if any one could answer these questions..

1. It says on the website that security guards check your bags, how thoroughly do they check it? (Im bringing my own drink, and im 16)

2. It also says on the website persons under the age of 18 should be accompanied by an adult at all times, is it really likely for a security guard to approach me and my friend, and did you see it happening to any underagers last year?

3. Do most people arrive on the friday or saturday? Its just if I was to go up after school would there still be people going in? Its just I was planning on asking an older group of people if they could let me and my friend tag along with them until we got in the campsite?

4. Also is it difficult to get near(ish) the front for headlinging acts?

I know most of these questions are about age but its just im determined to go and im worried I won't get in..

Hiya,

1) yeah they check your bag well, but your allowed to take drink just not in glass bottles, also i didnt get IDed then, only at the bars

2) Doubt they'ed approach you, but spose how young you look.

3) People were arriving on both friday and sat, if you head up on the sat youll still get a good camping bit. id say head up on the fri though, just for the banter

4) Not too bad, just head in 30 mins - ish before theyre meant to start

don't worried about getting ID'd, chances are you won't. i didn't last year, should be alright

Last year on the friday night i saw a couple of kids in the Soco tent that looked about 15 and they were absolutely loving it!

Strongly recommend you heading up on the friday!!

We'll probably just drink inside the campsite first, but not so we walk into the main bit completely drunk If we did try and get sold in the main bit and failed, hopefully a stranger would be kind enough to get it for us Is the drink quite pricey at Rockness? What do they sell?

Pints were around £3.20 or £3.30, they also had the Real Ale bar with decent Ale/Cider

The Tequila and Pimms were about £4.50.

Not sure on the Southern Comforts in the Soco Social.

Great stuff I'll only be taking 1 crate which is bout 20 cans, Mainly bothered about taking food and water, cos i dnt wanna be spending a fortune inside the arena. Thanks for that.

20cans will never do you for a weekend at Rockness!!! 2 crates, vodka and a wee box of wine for me is minimum!

Im pretty certain that unless you look your age and/or are covered in plooks then the barstaff will be ok.

Its also just your luck whether you get id'd/searched for booze as a minority have been each time ive been to Rockness. 2 years ago on the sunday i swaggered through from the campsite blootered and with a can of tennents in every pocket of my cargo shorts & jacket--i looked like the fecking michelin man...but nobody stopped me!!!

Last year I took :

crate of beer

4 litres of cider

2 litres of vodka

bottle of buckfast

.....I ran out on the last day

Recommend taking more!!
