drop off/pick up points

hello, im a new user and also a glasto virgin.

as im 17 next week i think it will be cutting it abit fine to pass my test and be able to drive from barnsley to glastonbury. so i was just wondering is there a drop off point/pick up point and if there is how far away is it from an entrance.

there's a national express coach from leeds to the festival. i'm sure your dad (or whoever) would rather drop you off/pick you up in leeds than somerset.

You can get dropped off at the Bath & West Showground (officially) or Castle Cary Rail Station (unofficially) and get a free shuttle bus to the site.

But as suggested, the better option is to try and get a bus or train from somewhere further afield, saves messing around.

hmm, i've been wondering about this as well, 13 of us going to Glastonbury this year and have booked a minibus to take us down, can the bus take us into the car parks and drop us off or do we have to lug our stuff from further afield?

i meant to ask when booking tickets, but i thought that see probably wouldn't have the info.

The official drop off/pick up point (or the only 1 I know of) is up near the coach drop off. Just past the John Peel tent and towards the cinema corner of the site. If that makes any sense, or is any kind of help.

it used to be there but afaik they changed it to the bath & west showground + shuttle bus a couple of years ago.

i think they want as little 2-way traffic close to the site as possible.

Yep, you won't be able to get past Red Gate without the correct pass. There was no end of radio chatter about Red Gate issues last year.

Yellow gate? Wouldn't be surprised if they did go through red-gate, based on the amount of radio chatter about such.
