jackones updated todays forecast.

Summary

Very good confidence of the Wednesday to Friday being on the very warm side, with decent amounts of sunshine, wit a small chacne of showers into the evening, especially on the Friday.

The ensembles are very keen to introducing the potentially wet and thundery weather over the continent at the end of next week over the UK for the weekend, but the operational runs keeps this over the continent, with only the rogue shower here. Whichever of these is correct would have a big difference on the end of the festival, due to this uncertainty I am keeping the rating at 6 (1=Washout, 10=Heatwave), however if the operational forecast was translated to the ensembles over the next couple of days, I would raise the score to 7 or 8.

8!!!!

I seriously doubt Jackones rating will be any higher than a 6 tonight. It'll probably stay at that as well until the obvious threat of thundery showers vanish, which at this stage don't look like they are going to.

eta:- Oh! :)

You and me both :) - Although it's not really bad news as such, if the operational looks like it knows what it's talking about then we could well be looking at an 8 soon

Metcheck continues to get better following the trend over the weekend

http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/7days.asp

I think the countryfile forecast was too general to be of use this time, and we've known for a while now that thunderstorms are expected over the south east next weekend.

I'm holding on the the hope that we're not going down the 2005 route again
