Haggis
Woke up this morning with heavy HEAVY showers. It's now turned into a slight drizzle but it'll probably come back. Just hope it's a bit better in 6 hours when i go into the festival! Wellies and glow in the dark poncho are GO

ukdaasfan
Mate - it will sell out within seconds. We're going, Glastoweatherwatch is back, Modey and Steve P should return from a year's hiatus too. F**k the musical acts - the dads are back in town. Anyway - the weather. My mate called me asking if the Michael Jackson rumour was true (around midnight), and he said it was wet but only the one heavy shower. He was confident the ground would recover. Has it got worse? bubbsio
Just left site to come and pick someone up. Been raining all night/morning buts its far from being muddy due to everyone being in their tents. Started to clear up as I left an hour ago and if the forecasts are right the site should be fine once it drys up. They were watering the paths yesterday it was so hot! Glasto Weatherwatch
The Vale of Avalon is a rain magnet. I remember after the torrential deluge of 7pm Friday in 1998 that a town four miles away stayed bone dry.

Langdale Wolf
This is true. Funnels down that valley and jsut sits. I thik they have been lucky. The ground is probabaly like a sponge cause iof the good weather next week. metcheck are now prediciting showers for the rest of the weekend. It won't be a patch on 2007. It reminded me of pictures of Passchendale.
ukdaasfan
My Glastos compared with this one: Driest 2008 2000 2009 2004 2005 2007 Wettest It won't be as bad as 2005, and certainly no 2007 IMHO. It remains to be seen if it will fall below 2004 in the wet factor.

mozzy
8AM Sunday in the long drops at the bottom (so to speak) of the Acoustic Field, all I can say is thanks for all your concern but it's been a f**king scorcher!
spammachine
Just got back home, and apart from rain on Thurs night and a shower that lasted for a few hours on Fri - the weather has been pretty damn good. At times it was too hot! Above 2008 weather wise imo - and slightly below 2003. Edited June 28, 2009 by spammachine
Haggis
twas an almost carbon copy of 2008. t'will do. (have to say, the dry spongey ground AFTER rain is great, but don't tell WoW I said that)
TheNewUnion
I like the spongy ground too, it's like the Mister Soft advert (showing my age there!)

sammysundae
the weather forecast pretty much couldn't have been more wrong. i even got an update on friday, and that was wrong too. the weather was fine though. it really didn;t affect the festival at all for me. just goes to show, you really can;t predict it. especially in a smokey valley

amfy
Well other than Friday overnight and morning we did pretty good. All dried up and scorchio by Saturday morning but my favourite was yesterday. It was warm but cloudy and every so often it rained but everyone completely ignored it - it was like denial. No-one put a coat on, or moved - people even carried on sunbathing! It was like we just ignored it til it went away!
Glastonbury_2011
The weather was f**king awesome. Better than 2008 by far.
LRW
The best bit about the weather this year was that the torrential rain started just as the car pulled off site and onto the main road at 5.30 this morning!! Perfect.
