WEATHER 2009 !

Oh hell.

I know there's no point worrying about the weather this far in advance and I know there's nowt anyone can do about it if it does lash down for 5 days solid, but I'm losing the will to live here :)

I just can't do another rain and mud soaked Glastonbury. The thought of trudging through knee deep mud trying to get from one stage to another is making me wanna vom. Plus I have 10 newbies coming with me this year and I'll never be forgiven if we get rain great enough for a Noah's Ark re-enactment.

Please, please, pretty please to any god/prophet/religious icon who wants to listen - don't let it be a wash out.

Please!

Every year since 2000, the weather for the Glastonbury weekend has always exactly mirrored that of the weekend precisely one month before.

I'm surprised nobody has picked up on this here before. The correlation is spooky.

So, anyway, this weekend is key:

Can I ask out of curiosity- which was worse 2005 or 2007? Wasnt there in 2005 - but the novelty sure wore off in 2007 by Sunday. All those who say it doenst matter are kidding themselves. It's bloody hard work - the long trudge up the metal walkways at 3 in the morning are a killer.

PS BUT am utterly convinced this one is going to be a sunny one. The weather seems to me different to the last couple of years. Colder/ wetter later into May - now getting hot. Last two years (at least in Bath) we had hot days earlier in April then it tailed off.

No question - 2007 was far worse. Rained solidly and was miserable.

2005 Weds & Thursday were lovely and hot. Then biblical thunderstorm which was in it's own way quite spectacular. But then it stopped raining and by Sunday we were dancing on dry ground in the dance field.

So give me 05 over 07 any day. But give me no rain if at all possible.

My cat agrees

Sunday in 2007 my memory is it p1ssed down all day.

Remember reading the Sunday paper by the Other Stage until it disintegrated in the rain.

Friday/ Saturday wasnt as bad - it wasnt raining when Super Furries were on (Friday).

But the cumulative effect was fairly shabby. Having to set off for a pee half an hour before you realised you wanted one cos the mud was so bad is no fun whatsoever.
