Langdale Wolf
WoW speaketh the truth. I got married on May 5th 2007 - a beautiful sunny day, not a cloud in the sky, nice and hot etc. Perfect. Look what happened at Glastonbury that year. The weather was SHITE. Let this good spell we're currently having breed positive, happy, sunny vibes. Let it warm your heart with gladness. But it does NOT mean that your Glastonbury will be as good. HOPE for the best people, but make sure you're PREPARED for the worst. Remember the phrase - NO RAIN NO COMPROMISE. William of Walworth
Bump for a timely reminder of this thread's seniority and importance over other, inferior weather threads! Weather turning downhill this week at last after so much prematurely nice weather recently. And that's a big relief to me. I'll gladly accept a washout Easter and other rainy, cloudy spring weeks to get it all out of the way before the summer! podge52
June The beginning of June looks toward a typical summer opening, very warm to locally hot across the bulk of the UK with long sunny spells and just scattered thundery showers breaking out. Will it last? Well, perhaps at most into the beginning of the second week when the flow turns more Atlantic orientated with cloud and rain pushing through all areas, low pressure taking control, all areas becoming cooler and fresher experiencing showers or perhaps patchy rain. Some recovery in pressure is expected through the middle of the month when it may give the impression that summer will be returning, and indeed some good spells of sunshine can be expected which will lift the temperatures once more, still the risk of patchy rain or showers for most areas, the north and northwest potentially seeing the 'worst' of the conditions. A return to proper 'westerlies' is anticipated on this pattern through the latter stages of the month, the beginning to an abridged 'European Monsoon' perhaps but too early to tell at this stages. If I had to stick my neck out even further then on the whole July perhaps not too bad as a summer month goes, August to close to call yet but looking a bit 'iffy' at times. mouth
re this longterm weatheronline forecast. There will be continued and regular alterations to this as time goes on, some of them quite dramatic changes. Of that we can be sure, it's all FAR too early to say. llcoolphil
From what I can tell, the jet stream has shifted back north again - its this that has brought all the wet weather the last two summers. This should make for a more settled Azores high and a much better summer. Pack your suncream folks, it's gonna be a scorcher edit to add Thugh of course you cant actually forecast specific conditions at specific times this far in advance. dj267
as far as lat year's weather goes, I reckon a post of water on the Wednesday and Thursday can go down a treat, if we have to have rain. Let's this famous 'Glasto spirit' set in by the lovely, glorious Friday, and everything rolls on gloriously. If we have to have rain, make it early on, please god. A rainy sunday would be unbearable........
