darrenbha
is it anything different you're thinking of now for fourth headliner????
staggerlee
I'm as certain as I ever am until an official announcement. Things I'm this certain of have never yet been proven wrong - tho there will be a first time one day I'm sure. But it won't be this one. eFestivals
How certain are you the Neil Young is doing the Friday man? very nearly as certain, but just the tiniest bit less.

pedmills
I can settle on nothing as the 4th headliner currently - if I give you a name today, then tomorrow I'll be thinking something different. But it might (just might!) be the case that I'm now hot on the heels of who it is. It might even be the case that I get word back today confirming it, but I think it's more likely tomorrow, and even hugely likely that a certain publication will beat me to it if I'm not off on a false trail yet again. So the answer is, at the moment, I have no idea. Edited February 10, 2009 by peteyboy

harper11
As Bruce likes to play long long sets, could he not be billed as the headliner but play from about 7 or 8pm, giving him the sunset, the magical period, also an hour or so of night time for a big lighting/firework extravaganza? This would give him more than enough time to pack up his gear, eat his sandwiches and catch a bus to London ready to set up in Hyde Park (bless him), also would mean he would probably need to bring less kit to Glasto as only a short part of the set would be in darkness. Then the mysterious "4th Headliner" could close the evening. I know it sounds odd to put him on early but it used to be quite common at festivals to put the main act on one from top and then a nice, goodnight performace from a big but maybe slightly lesser known act. If not, and he insists on doing a 3 hour set as I was led to believe he has done with the Holland date, then the 4th headliner would be pretty much in broad daylight. It would be a bit dissapointing to be billed as a co headliner with Springsteen then to be told you've got to have finished by 8.30 on a SUNNY mid-summers eve. mudmonkey
Slight possiblity that this means Springsteen is playing the Friday? With Neil Young on before him? And Radiohead playing the Saturday...?

eFestivals
So did this come to nothing to date, yes. But that doesn't mean I won't get to hear something eventually, and I'm vaguely hopeful for tomorrow. I've just had something come back to me from a different line of 4th headliner enquiry about a totally different band that I'd given up on about a week back, so sometimes these things take time ... and this thing is still gonna take a bit more time, but at least I know it's progressing. This one might bear fruit sooner, but I suspect it'll only be to rule the band out. It's another 'wait and see'. Much as I'd like to be able to get instant answers to any festie line-up question I could ask, I can't. So mostly I have to get out my pointy hat and wand and magic it up. I don't do bad considering.
