it's certainly the case that FR told people they were when they weren't, if what the ORF people are saying is on the level. However, I suspect it's bullshit, only for the purposes of those people wanting to show off by pretending they're in the loop when they're not.

Where have the Iron Maiden rumours come from? I mean I'm not complaining because of all the rumours they are by far the best in my opinion.

But why have people rumoured them when they have no new stuff out etc?

Is it a realistic rumour or just blind hope?

it's only early-ish Feb, and Reading tends to announce in late March. They tend to announce in late March because that's when they're in a position to announce, which means things often aren't sorted until near then.

I'm actually surprised in general about what is known about who is playing where already, I reckon there's probably more this year than in previous years. There's certainly no less, tho the fests that bits and pieces are known about isn't always the same each year.

(I don't know if this has been mentioned or not but lostprophets have a random one off date in london on the 22nd of August.. I guess this means either V (that weekend, but did last year) or Reading...

Also perhaps as a long shot Queens of the Stone Age could take the step up...? Perhaps not this year, maybe Sonisphere??? They have remasterings to support and could maybe try new songs...?

Last time blink played was 2003, 2nd under Linkin Park, and with them being away for few years, makes sense for them to be able to headline.

Blink wont headline, or even play - Chances are they will tour America/Canada first in the Summer.

the 3rd could be anyone really, i want it to be Greenday but them doing stadium/arena tours instead makes sense.

Artics and KOL are nailed on. I hope they get Bruce Springsteen or Blur for the third but I think it's going to be someone rubbish. If they booked the acts too early there is a chance Kaiser Chiefs will be up there somewhere and god forbid Stereophonics.

Stereophonics wont headline, they were 2nd or 3rd from top ay V last year. Springsteen would be awesome but I can't see it. Marilyn Manson hasn't been confirmed for Download yet? Any chance they're doing R&L instead?
