I'd hate to be called a cynic, but the "just to make it clear, the bands you already knew about are exclusive" announcement seems ever so slightly panicky to me.

Maybe they've scaled back on one or two bands because it hasn't sold as well as expected at this stage?

It wouldnt have sold well anyway based on 6 bands out of 40 being announced. I reckon they maybe havent got AiC exclusively. Or maybe they havent got them at all?

Well Neil was right in the sense that they WERE announced.

Perhaps they signed up to do all legs of Sonisphere, before a UK leg was actually announced. Would explain the confusion, and would also mean they're not necessarily not playing, they'll just want 15-20% more for playing the extra date.

Just realised...

On the section of the Sonisphere site that talks about the exclusive bands they have, when Alice went up for the first time they were on this list, and it said they were just playing Sonisphere in the Uk in 2009.

But then when that whole thing happened about them "going missing" from the site and then getting put back in a couple of days later, they have not been put back into the exclusives list. Do we think this means that they could be doing another festival or even better playing their own shows in the UK?

It would be good to see AiC do a tour. i think the whole exclusivity badge is a bit unfair on the fans. Sure, play a festival exclusive. But to reform and just play one festival. Wreaks of reforming for the cash! FNM anyone!
