Limp Bizkit have announced that they are reforming with the original band lineup for the first time in eight years.

Fred Durst, Wes Borland, Sam Rivers, John Otto and DJ Lethal have joined forces once again to tour and record a new album. Guitarist Borland, who left the band in 2001 and returned briefly only to leave again in 2006, has apparently resolved differences with his bandmates.

"We decided we were more disgusted and bored with the state of heavy popular music than we were with each other," Durst and Borland said in a joint statement.

"Regardless of where our separate paths have taken us, we recognize there is a powerful and unique energy with this particular group of people we have not found anywhere else. This is why Limp Bizkit is back."

Limp Bizkit will kick off a world tour in the spring, hitting the European festival circuit. They will also play their first-ever shows in Russia. Tour dates will soon be announced on the band's new website Limpbizkit.com.

They also intend to begin recording a new album.

Ah god, another reformation of a never-that-good-anyway band that will have only gotten worse. Another band who reform and therefore have to have the come back tour including the headline slots at festivals. Such a waste of space if they do take any spot, eb it Reading or Download, but if it is Download then let them just stay there.

they're a band you either love or hate, but you'd be surprised with how many people will buy reading/leeds or even download tickets now just for them.

i'm surprised theres so much hate for them. i agree they have gone down a bit. they couldn't headline. but 2nd from top sunday night would be good.

i guess they just bring back fond teenage memories. i'd like them to play and would probably go to a day of download to see them. wes borland is a legend.

Reading and Leeds has a certain cred it has to uphold,

you're right - jack penate, the enemy, the ting tings, fratellis, mindless self indulgence, one night only, elliot minor, P!ATD, razorlight, gossip, pipettes, paramore, MCR.

thats quite a pedigree there.

lets face it, R/L often has a lot of bands who are both very popular, but some people regard as being embarassingly bad.

LB fall into both of those categories. i don't mind, its a bit of fun.

Utter bollocks, thetest will be when they announce their UK dates & we see how it sells. My mates & I got earlybird tickets for this years Leeds but have today bought Download too, LB played a bit part in that. I never got to see them live & after seeing their Woodstock & Family Values performances they look like they're pretty badass live.

Just praying Leeds doesn't turn out to be a big NME circle w*nk so we can go to both.

I agree they were a fad, but most albums brought now are fads, becuase of piracy, Kings of Leon case in point, this has been their most succesful album, but it isn't their best, its because they are the in thing

Limp Bizkit was definatly more of a fad than Kings of Leon though, they have a hardcore fanbase, Limp Bizkit I wouldn't think had anywhere near one like KOL but they will still be well recieved at Download, thats why they've been booked on loads of festivals this summer, they're still a draw, and I guess much of that is because they didn't really do the fests that much when they were a huge draw, or the younger fans didn't get chance to see them last time around, yes they're a throwback, but a fun one at that!
