I'd say they're pretty likely to play.

i reckon they could headline lock up or one of the other stages.currently doing a uk tour,selling out quite a few dates.probably as big as less than jake or gallows who've headlined in the past and venues on tour are similar in size to recent gallows and LTJ tours.

Well I'm hoping that Rancid also make it over for an over due performance at the festival, Rise Against are touring with Rancid so if Rise Against are in Europe in August this means that Rancid are free too and from the latest update, it sounds like they could be coming back over to Europe with the new album out.

2009 is sure to be an exciting year for Rancid. Our good friend and producer Brett Gurewitz has finished mixing our new record set to release around spring of this year. We've all been working real hard along side Brett on this record and we are all real proud of how its turning out. We're putting together some exciting stuff with this record that we can't wait to share with you all. As it's release comes nearer we will get you more details on everything we've been working on.

We will also be hitting the road hard this year. As you may have heard we've confirmed a 2 month North American Tour with Rise Against. This will be a great opportunity to play you some of our new songs live in addition to a mix of songs spanning the entire history of Rancid. We like to play a new set every night to keep it fresh and interesting for all of us! We like to do a little something from every Rancid record giving every night a unique show from the one before.

We will keep you informed on tour dates/cities as well as album info and release dates as that info becomes available. Til then....

i'm seeing them twice in march anyway, but i'll be surprised if they don't play Reading. they could headline the lockup i reckon.

If I'm wrong in doubting the three headliners, I hope Rise Against play high in the lockup. Don't wanna miss Radiohead, even if you hate them they're amazing when you're under the influence (of anything). If Radiohead are the Sunday headliner I may not go anyway, but if they ARE then they won't clash with a lockup band.

They could play the mainstage, but would be a bit wasted there like Alexisonfire. Not sure if they are big enough to headline Lockup, maybe sub headline.

I heard they confirmed it in an interview on Saturday. Just from someone on Twitter saying they interviewed them and asked if they were playing.

Wouldn't surprise me if they do a double set. First band of the weekend, and then second on the Lockup I reckon. Big enough to headline but the double set generally doesn't top the bill.
