Beer

bring in as much alcohol as you like (not stupid amounts though, if they suspect you'll be selling it they'll stop you), i've seen people walking through the turnstile pulling 3 or 4 crates or more along behind them.

make sure you decant anything in a glass bottle into plastic, no glass allowed on site (think of the cows who normally live there).

you can take your booze anywhere on site with you, once you're in you're in.

bar prices are a little better than other festivals, but think london prices.

I'd second that.. bring as much as you can (within reason) - a few cases of tinnies, assuming you can carry them for half an hour or however far you need to walk to your camp site. Should give you a daily "breakfast" and a few each day to take round with you (I have one of those small sport backpacks that you hardly notice on your back)

You're allowed to take in as much beer as you like.

I don't advise it though. You've got a long trek from the car park / bus stop / whatever, and beer is a dead weight. Then once you're on site, either you carry a load of heavy beer around with you, or you find yourself at one end of the site while your beer's in the tent on the other.

If it's dry, you can get away with wheeled trolleys. If it's even slightly muddy, I will be laughing at you heaving a trolley through the mud.

Much better than beer:

  • spirits - decanted into plastic bottles

  • wine boxes

To you beer is dead weight, to me it's an essential festival supply! :P I also take a few red wine boxes, and fill 500ml water bottles to carry around with me. :P

I let WBC keep my beer chilled, but it's so nice having some cans around for at the tent, or late night stone circle etc.

Many trolley threads, summary, make sure it has large pneumatic tyres. I've used the B&Q sack truck in the rain and mud of 2007, and it was a godsend. Rode high above the mud/water and was effortless.

off my trolley
