hey guys,

I have to be in London Stansted Airport Monday Morning at 11 AM for the flight check in. Cost is important but catching the flight is much more important! What's the best and safe way to manage this?

I would be grateful if you could give me any advice.

cheers

Hi

I had to get back to London early in 07, we got into paddington at 9.30 so if you do the same you will be able to get to Stanstead in time.

Basically you need to be on the first train to London, this is around 7 - 7.30am. You are going to have to get in the queue for the shuttle bus no later than 5.30, I was there at 5 and got straight on a bus

Hopes this helps

how are you getting there? car?

google maps says 3 hours 9 minutes so i'd add on a very large margin of error, maybe even the journey time again, but that would mean leaving at 5am.

i'd prefer to leave after the sunday night headliners then you're guaranteed to get there, i'd rather get to the airport stupidly early and have a couple of hours sleep in the car than be sat in traffic as 11:00 rolls by.

edit:

ah, properly tread the OP, yes, if you're going by train follow ledzep's advice.

Yes, LedZep is right. We took the first train out in 2005 (it could have been even earlier than 7) and were at Paddington and back in North London before the off peak ticket hours at 9.

From Paddington, you can get the tube to either Liverpool St Station or Tottenham Hale and from either of those get the Stansted Express train. Or the other possibility is to get to Victoria or Golders Green and get the National Express coach up to Stansted- cheaper option and at that time in the morning should tak an hour or so.

check on the lift share part of the forum. i usually venture back to london on Sunday night after the last act and there's bound to be others in the same situation. maybe you even find some to share a car hire...then it's no problem at all, takes about 2.5 - 3 hours that time of night from glasto to stanstead
