Mardy
Nah, 45 min is to short for a club gig. Maybe a 45 min festival set is fine. For the Oslo gig they want 26,81 GBP out my pocket for 45 min. I love the album and all of that, but when they first bother to show up, they might as well play! It`s not like they have anything better to do right then..
beergut100
I'm no fan of Glasvegas, the album is 6/10 and the singer comes across as a bellend. BUT better to have 45 minutes of excitement than 90 of tedium. I don't buy the idea that longer = better. Same with songs, same with albums, same with performances. if it's good, it's good. Excitement/music/rock isn't something you buy by the metre.

Mardy
20 minutes of Glasvegas was enough for me; I f**ked off, along with a very large percentage of the audience. To put into persective how bad they were, I have been to at least a gig a month (often more) for nearly 30 years, many of them very bad and I have never walked out before the end, prior to this gig. Jens Wildman
well exactly, I have no desire to see Glasvegas at all, but the idea that you can rate a band by how long they play for and there's a minimum time is a bit daft. I mean in 1984 the Mary Chain played 35-40 minute sets, but they were pretty f****** incredible. better that than 3 hours of jazz impro meandering. cidy
review of gig here http://www.musicomh.com/music/gigs/glasvegas_0908.htm i think the gigs will be a bit longer now as they play a few trax from their xmas ep which arent all xmassy by the way. depends what stage they are playing as well, arent most slots about an hour on jp stage for e.g. either way i`ll watch em ,hoping for a few xtra trax such as legs n show and be my baby ,might even get the cover of suspicious minds with the singer from florence and the machine bands, do like to do a few different sets at glasto afterall
Mardy
15-20 minutes was nearer the mark in the early days - sometimes followed by a ruck in the crowd. I think the 1st time I saw them in Liverpool in 85 the set was just over 18 minutes. I've seen a few bands play a single song lasting longer than that! mozzy
hehehe, I must have seen them on a good night, when they were feeling expansive, I'm sure it was about 40 minutes. A marathon set for them ;-)
