Camp Mat!

Hello all

I will be making the 12 hour coach journey to Glastonbury this year! In previous years I have used airbeds to sleep on but this year I am aiming to cut down on things to take. I want to get a camping mat and noticed that you can buy the self inflating ones, are these worth the hassle of taking and less bulky than airbeds? If not then I mayaswell save some money and get myself a standard camp mat!!

Cheers guys

I took a self inflating cheapy version of a Therm-a-Rest last year - I think it was £12 from GO Outdoors. And bloody hell, it was brilliant! Much comfier than a rollmat, and much less faff than a heavy airbed. I also bought a £5 blanket from Joe Bananas and put that under me as I'm a bit of a chuffer so I tend to roll off the mat in the night, and I was as snug as a bug in a rug.

(the only minor issue with self-inflatables is uninflating them... the trick is apparently to sit on them, fold then roll...)

man up and sleep on the floor

when it comes to sleeping I'm that tired that I'm asleep before i hit the pillow so comfort doesn't play a big part in it.

If you are not tired enough to fall asleep instantly then you should get back out there because there are only a finite amount of hours in glastonbury :P
