Festival organiser Michael Eavis has claimed to have booked one of the headliners for next year's Glastonbury Festival.

Michael Eavis negotiated the deal at last night's NME Awards, and told Teletext's Planet Sound (here), "I've booked the Friday headliner after talking to someone's agent an hour ago. It's the 40th anniversary in 2010, and we're also hoping to seal a really amazing anniversary headliner soon."

I'm going to guess Muse...but The Cure is a really good guess as well.

It's been pointed out on another thread but - Michael Eavis makes claims like this pretty much every year with varying end results. If he's claiming to have booked a headliner for 2010, it probably doesn't mean they're signed and sealed, there's every chance that a band has just made an initial enquiry about the possibility of playing..

Sorry, why would he have to pull out all the stops to get these as headliners??? They aren't good enough to headline imo! This would be truely the poorest set of headliners ever!!! The only band id actually consider watching out the three, and it would depend on what else was on, is Razorlight. This would be truely poor! And shit, and bollox, and f**king ridiculously disapointing!
