Campsite stage

So, the Sonisphere organisers have stated there will be another stage based in the campsite so the entertainment continues after hours. Any ideas for bands? Maybe mainstage bands popping up for acoustic sets??

I know the music continued after hours at Hard Rock Hell last year - The Wildhearts hitting the stage after headliners Black Label Society - and it went down a storm.

Heck, i'd want the Widlhearts to play anywhere on the bill to be honest. Oh, and Therapy.

Anyhoo, I digress, your thoughts on the campsite stage then..................

Yeh im guessing it will be smaller bands still tryign to build kinda thing

then again lots of band look small compared tot he main lineup

im guessign they will msotly be british and possibly local

enter shikari and gallows fit into that genre

will be interestign to find out

the guy who runs the festival said in a interview with metal hammer that the camp stage would have bands and DJ'S playing

Given the amount of bands that are playing and the price (quality over quantity is a good thing, but it's still damn expensive) I'm glad to hear this.

Will they be doing something on the Friday night as well?

I think that's more likely - there's like to be issues with noise if it's bands.

theyve said theyve got not noise restrictions im sure. im hoping for bands like architects, protest the hero, gallows to play the campsite stage. wishful thinking ey

Dunno about Gallows as they've confirmed they're playing Mainstage at Download so could be an exclusive [even though they are a smaller act, because they're on main stage it could block out other shows, that being said the campsite acts might not even get advertised or announced until very late on, like after Download has taken place]

EDIT won't be Gallows 100%

They're on the Warped tour in the US at the time

The bands aren't going to be that big.

The idea is that people who want something to do have something to do. They're not going to put in a band that thousands of people will actually go out of their way to see.

Heck, i'd even be happy if they booked a bunch of covers bands for after hours partying - bands that wouldn't steal the headliners thunder too much. How's about some Me First And The Gimme Gimme's or Richard Cheese & Lounge Against The Machine??

I doubt the campsite bands will be mentioned or advertised and given that it's the inaugural year it wouldn't surprise me if they pulled something big.

My initial thought was that Slipknot would play it as they are doing the European dates but not UK due to Download.

Wasn't Galbraith running Download when he got Metallica to do their secret set the year they headlined Reading/Leeds?

if they've said that then it's very simple - they're lying.

It's simply not possible to have a stage that isn't subject to noise restrictions.

Another great covers band to add to the list - a heavy metal Bee Gees tribute band called......TRAGEDY!

I saw them just two nights ago supporting Electric Six and they were quality.
