Green Day to headline Friday!

Why would Green Day play at Glastonbury when they could play at Reading for £1million, they are after all the biggest hypocrites in the entire world.

They always bang on about how punk they are. Yeah, they're so punk they're signed to Warner Brothers.

They conviently made an album about Iraq and George W Bush at the peak of those issues' unpopularity. Even the Dixie Chicks spoke out and risked their careers when ti wasn't popular. Where were Green Day then? And then for When September Ends they made an anti-Iraq vomit fest that cost approaching $1million. If they cared so much why didn't they give that money to a charity working in Iraq or for wounded servicemen?

I liked their songs when I was about 15, but I actually violently despise them.

I saw them years ago at Wembley Arena. They said "We're going to do something we've never done before, we're going to make a band on stage right here!". Two years later I saw them in the same arena (free tickets from a mate who couldn't go) and they said "We're going to do something we've never done before, we're going to make a band on stage right here!". Then the year after I saw them at Reading and they said "We're going to do something we've never done before, we're going to make a band on stage right here!".

Sorry for the rant, but IMO, Green Day can do one

In an early pressing of their first album they included a letter from a major record label (can't remember which) offering them in a large sum of money. And, their response was included, words to this effect :

f**k off, you bell-ended retards. we'll never join a major label, f**k your money.

Oh, the irony.

this is possibly the worst idea ever

..."would appeal to the young" really because im young and know young people, none of them like them, and not even my enemies would wish that upon me, green day as a headliner.

What next gary glitter/purple aki/pete townshend reunion in the kids field.

Strokes wouldn't mind cant see it, not wrote their new album never mind recorded.

Maybe next year...at R/L
