Thanky you very much for pre booking your V Festival 2009 tickets back in

2008, your loyaltly to V is very much appreciated.

It is with regret that we have to tell you that this year there will be no

Thursday opening at Weston Park. We are aware you also booked the Early

Access Tickets last year and as a result you will be entitled to a full

refund for that ticket.

We hope that you'll have an equally enjoyable weekend come 22nd and 23rd

August despie this.

thats really pissed me off, the thursday last year was great, I really think they'll have done it to save money as I have a feeling last year that not as many turned up on the thursday as they would have liked however last year it was advertised poorly and with the thursday camping available at the same time as ticket booking I think it may have been a different story this year.

I really hope 5pm tonight brings some good news on the line up front or there will be 2 tickets for staffs for sale later on

Sorry Folks but I have just spoken to See and they have confirmed that the email is genuine. They said that the email has gone out in a hurry hence the spelling.

This really sucks and if there is no one in the anouncement that really grabs me I dont think I will be going this year.

i am sooo annoyed. if i knew it was going to be 4 days i honestly wouldnt of brought the ticket. paying £145 for a ticket for 3 days is pathetic when glastonbury has cost me only £5 more for an extra 2 days!! im annoyed how late they have left it to let us no aswell, cuz now even if i manage to sell my ticket most other festies have sold out grrrrrr!

Think V is more concerned about keeping the sponsors happy (19 last year!) and c-list freeloading 'celebs' who get backstage at Chelmsford so they can get their mugs in The Sun than the doughnuts like us who have to scrimp and save to pay for it!

Well that sucks! I had no issues with traffic last year, cus I went on Thursday morning, and my brother had no issues and he went on Friday morning. I hate queues.

Was there some kind of issue last year? Or perhaps booking Oasis and the Killers blew their budget(!!) and they are now having to hold back.

All I can say is "ARSE".

TITP is the most expensive UK festival and probably on a par for V for prices for drink/food etc

Gutted about this announcement. Ticketmaster are saying cancelled on their website now. I thought the extra day last year was a tester towards 3 days of music. It obviously backfired or they have spent too much money on the artists this year.

Ps hope I get a refund for the early access tickets as ordered again in presale last year from Ticketmaster and they have already taken the payment.

The Thursday was fantastic but we loved it because it was very very quiet, in the present financial climate I don't think they could take the risk, there were not many people taking the early bird tickets last year (all beit badly announced) so they probably think they will have enough on their hands trying to selll out the days they have already got planned

i was shocked to drive straight in without any queue's last year, with the thursday not being open next year i doubt it will be the same.
