The Line Up...

A lot of the line up is predictable and dull.... so many bands coming back that played in 2007. A handful of great bands that I'm yet to see though - The Specials, Elbow, MGMT, Pendulum, Pete Doherty, British Sea Power, Ocean Colour Scene, Dizzee Rascal, Seasick Steve, The Saturdays.... excited for these.

And I was sooooo hoping for Faithless too!!

But it's not the most hopeless lineup I've ever seen. Looks like a fun filled weekend tbh!

At least on Oasis day, maybe not Killers day as Fatboy/Pendulum/Ting Ting triple is on 4music that day, good running order that IMO

i badly wanted to see MGMT as i haven't seen them before but me and my mate are big oasis fans we are seeing them at wembley so i don't mind too much missing them at v if i have to but my mate who i'm going with is going mainly to see oasis she is a huge fan so i can't very well make her watch MGMT ..LOL!!

also big fan of fatboy slim he was amazing las time at v and last year in hyde park and i like the killers its a tough one with clashes this year!!

Less acts announced so far this year as far as I can see. Think it was about 39 in the first wave last year versus 30-31 this year. Which is a relief! There's only so much Razorlight / Keane / Snow Patrol one can take. I can take or leave the main headliners. In any case, I hate the new layout for the main stage at Chelmsford (sound was shocking last year) and will spend my time shuttling between C4, Union and the big tent.

Going to have to be a year for smaller acts and leisurely drinking. MGMT, Elbow, Specials, BSP, Pendulum are a bit of coup, Fatboy too. Ocean Colour Scheme were a pleasant surprise a few years back. I would hope for a few more like that personally...

Prodigy, Vampire Weekend, Saint Etienne still on my wish list.

Pretty uninspiring overall, lots of recylcled acts & the only band I want to see that I've not seen before are The Specials. Them aside Biffy, Streets, Dizzee, The Mondays, Seasick Steve & OCS all stand out for me but I've seen them all before. If it was up to me this would be the first year in a long time I'd be giving V a miss but it's only up the road from where I live & I'm going to Download & Leeds with the lads so I HAVE to go to V with the missus.

That said, the fact that Pendulum are playing means that Download & V can share acts, Devildriver early mainstage

It's waaay to early to start looking at clashes as the Channel 4 & JJB line-ups will change significantly over then next few months. Lady GaGa won't headline the Arena & I doubt Fatboy Slim will headline the Channel 4.

Wonder if JJB pulling out is why the Thursday has been cancelled? Presume they would have paid extra as the JJB was heaving on the Thursday...they must have proper raked it in. Their pulling out must have impacted on the finances causing the cancellation of the Thursday night
