Trash City / Shangri-La expansions...

Last year they were trying to charge people to get into that Tilted Disco place on monday morning, they said it was for these crappy cardboard glasses that you got, I just paid up and got the glasses but some of my mates, quite rightly refused to pay and said that they didn't want the glasses and tried to just walk in, and I remember the security getting a bit angry with them for refusing to pay. They got in in the end but wasn't really in the 'glasto spirit'.

Am I the only one who thinks Shangri-La should have been made bigger and not Trash City

I didnt really experience TC enough I guess but I just loved the business, the chaos and mayhem of Shangri-La. Just stumbling into "The Pub" and seeing The Holloways performing Generator was a very pleasent surprise! Then enjoyed a chaotic set from The Paddingtons wherein at least 20 people invaded the stage and ran backstage!

You only pay for food or drink.

All the fantastic and varied acts are all paid for when you buy your ticket.

This is the main outside area in TC, At the base of that tower under tha flames there is an excellent DJ, there are a few bars and clubs leading off here.

I was at Glasto last year and heard there were jacuzzis and stuff like that at Shangri-La but apparently you had to pay for all that stuff. Lots of spa-type things, etc. If things are free, fair enough. I don't want to have to pay extra tho.

Tilted Disco did the 3D glasses and the NYC Gaybar did the moustaches - both charging entry in a sense, something we need to keep a close eye on - if any of these bars think they can get away with squeezing extra cash out of us, they will. Watch this year very carefully for more on the sly charges being introduced, peeps..

NB I'm not against these extras, but in the spirit of Glasto it should be "welcome, oh and would you like this cool accessory for a pound" rather than last year's "well, we might let you in if you don't buy this but we'll make your life difficult" etc..

Could someone please enlighten me???? I love the idea of Trash City/Shangri-La, but I've never really enjoyed it. I can't help thinking I'm missing something. Last year we ended up in the tilted disco. Sure, it was fun, but it was by no means amazing. What am I missing? The tilted disco is part of Trash City, right?
