from the new poster on the download site its moved Prodigy up to under slipknot could this mean prodigy cud maybe a sub headliner on the main stage on the sat??

when should we know the structure cos we're deciding between download and rockness and would rather decide when we still have an option.

I would still put them as second stage, I think theyre only being flaunted like that because the download organisers realise theyre the most popular band on the whole bill, headliners included.

apparently the organisers have said the order on the posters is just the way it looks best at the mo... all the bands wont be put in the correct places til the days are officially announced...

I think it was pretty obvious I meant on the download line up.

surely the biggest band in britain should be on the main stage rather than second.

The Prodigy are pretty huge, mainly because they have such a wide range of appeal, aswell as a solid fanbase. They're easily bigger then slipknot, not just in record sales in the UK, but probably in how many people they can pull to venues and the full on, but versitile nature of their songs. There aren't many bands who fuse such a wide spectrum of musical influence together.

They'd still be better in a more intimate setting (preferably a tent).

With exception of the other 3 plus the reason NONE of them are playing Download. The Prodigy are the biggest British band "in this moment of time".

prodigy are the biggest band on the line-up and do the best live shows, id prefer them in a tent, but main stage is where they deserve to be.

dunno about prodigys recent gig at the secc, but slipknot sold that out very easily in a quick time. and that was without dizzee rascal supporting.

Prodigy's recent gig was at the Carling, sorry o2, academy without Dizzee Rascal and it was sold out. Slipknot's gig at the SECC standing was sold out, seating was not. Prodigy's future gig in April is at the SECC with Dizzee Rascal which is sold out. Just FYI.

i think Prodigy would be better in the dark but there still gonna be immense! arguing about who is bigger is just futile - the new album is apparently doing a storming trade, but i think there's bigger bands out there... and whoever said about Slipknot doing so well at the SECC 'without having Dizzee Rascal support' - erm, i think having Machine Head support might have helped somewhat!!!

erm, i don't know what kind of point you're trying to prove by coming onto the Download forums and comparing Machine Head to Dizzee Rascal (who i love by the way)...

what the hell have album sales got to do with it? Machine Head are a MASSIVE draw on the live circuit i think you might find.
