I had an inner pitch first dome once, never again, very fussy and in fact a flawed design where it was impossible to separate inner and outer, so they made contact and leaked all the time.

Saw them with a good range of tents last year; they had them all on display to the side/rear in the stall-holders campings. Seem to remember they had a nice range of pop-ups, but I don't remember specifically though.

Joe bananas have got new tents this year. They're from Gelert, which I understand are really good ones. Last year I brought some stuff off them and picked it up at Glasto... I didn't get a camping pack but just pick and mixed my own pack from their stuff. you can order what you like from the site and pick it up so if the tent isn't the one you're after you can pick any of the other tents. Thats what I did and its still going strong after several outings.

I can vouch for the quality of Eurohike tents, I've just retired my Eurohike after almost 15 years of service. It's survived plenty of people falling on to it, high winds and torrential downpours. You want to try and get one that has the flysheet first, as if it's really chucking it down you can get that up sharpish and take shelter.

Buy cheap and suffer, for an extra 50% you can get something that will last you many years.

I've no problem with JBs at all - they sold me a decent blanket. Although, the year I forgot to take my sleeping bag :P they sold out!

However, personally I'd be terrified of turning up at the festival without a tent I had tried out. If you pitch the tent yourself even if only once, you know how to put it up, and you know it's not faulty. Both vital things to know, especially if it's raining.

(I'm just imagining how my arrival at Bestival last year, in the pissing rain, would have been so much worse if I hadn't known how to put the tent up quickly, or if it had a tear or a bad seam.)

From Gate A, where the bus station is, follow signs to the Other Stage. You'll go via John Peel and the Dance Village.

When you get to the Other Stage, look to right hand corner of the field. You'll see a big tent: That's the Queens Head.

Milletts is round the back.

Like everyone else has said, don't get one of those single skin tents that JB sells.
