Please! :D

Won't happen though.

Daft Punk? Would be immense

Oh one question, to all the people saying they'd love it to be the White Stripes, how many of you have seen them before? Not slagging them off at all because I really like them, but when I saw them at Reading I was pretty disapointed. They were okay and everything, and maybe my expectations of them were too high, but the only time they felt like headliners was when the entire crowd was singing along to 7 nation army at the end. Before that it was all very... I don't know, like they were at a rehearsal.

As I say I like the band, and id be willing to give them another shot, but I did have visions of them being amazing live, like quite a lot seem to here, and I have to say they were nothing special at all.

I honestly have no idea who could replace Young as the pyramid headliner for friday, i dread to think its Coldplay!!! I also believe that Radiohead have a chance, but id like to see who neil thinks it could be.

I don't believe it's Radiohead, unless (and even this is unlikely) they'll be playing an unadvertised set.

I'm pretty sure they'll be an exclusive to Reading & Leeds, and I'm pretty sure that R&L have tightened up their contracts after Metallica played a 'secret set' at Download the same year they were headlining on a supposed exclusive basis.

I saw them at Reading that year (2004?) and was slightly disappointed, but I put that down to Morrissey playing beforehand and it being a bit of an anticlimax. We thought afterwards that a killer hour set from the Stripes as a support would have been a lot better. Would still definitely see them if they played though.

had another thought on who it could be tho bit out of leftfield...

..portishead

recent album critically and commercially successful (sold over 1.5m copies) so stock is still high, third entered the uk album chart at #2, they headlined coachella last year which is one of the biggest festivals, neil said glasto tried really hard to get them last year but were unsuccessful; perhaps they went back with a bigger offer of headliner this year to attract them, they're english so could fit with the 2+2 (white stripes before spingsteen). still excellent live (saw them at hammersmith last year).

any thoughts?

Glasto, tour and an album would be a triple whammy of amazingness but a couple of questions

1) Where did you hear this?

2)Why do the White Stripes have a HQ?

3)Do all bands have HQ's?

3.2) If yes, where is the Neil Diamond HQ, that chunt owes me an hour of my life and one way or another I will get it back

Hope your right by the way
