The Road to Glasto...

2005 I think.....three of us in the car, me and my pal enjoying a little drinky as we weren't driving (we weren't getting drunk but just enjoying a nice cold can while we could!) all three of us laughing and joking about the fun we were going to have, the sun was shining, we were all in high spirits but getting slightly annoyed at the fact that the traffic was slowing and a queue was building. Grrrrrr.

20 minutes later we see there has been an accident, and as we drive past we see a body covered over on the floor besides the road :)

Nobody spoke for about half an hour after that :)

Be careful on the road to and from Glasto guys x

probs had the worst journey ever travelling to Glasto last year, broke down about 9 times on the way down (travelled from newcastle left on the Tuesday at about 7pm), every time we got petrol our camper wouldn't start again so had to push it off the forecourt and there was only me and my bloke, broke down at a junction with a bendy bus trying to come round the corner and held up all the traffic, someone thankfully came and helped us, chugged through Bath town centre at 8AM on the Wednesday morning with every one looking at us cos the engine was back firing and making all kinds of noises.

Broke down at the highwayman in shepton mallet but luckily we we meeting friends so had more man power to push the van.

Missed all acts on the sunday cos we couldn't get the van started so we decided to phone the recovery people thinking it would take them ages to get to us so we could still watch some bands but no, they were there within about an hour, they started the camper and got us off the site and we got towed all the way back to newcastle.

Hence us looking at getting rid of our VW and getting an american day van instead :D

haha the joys!

I completely agree. In 2007 I was wandering around on the Thursday evening already half-cut and ended up in the Stone Circle watching fire-eaters. It was the year the Stone Circle had those decorative portaloos, and dip-stick here thought it would be nice to climb on to the top of one and take a photo of the site from up there. As I was climbing back down, I slipped and fell backwards off the loo. I instinctively put my hands out to cushion the fall, hit the ground and had the most horrendous shooting pains in my forearms.

I went to first aid who thought I'd just badly bruised my arms, they 'kindly' gave me some surgical gloves filled with cold water to try and reduce the swelling and pain and then sent me on my way. I then spent the entire weekend unable to use my arms - I couldn't dress/undress myself, undo my trousers for a pee, lift my drink to my mouth or anything. Added to this was the worst mud in the history of mankind, as I was desperately trying not to slip over in case I hurt my arms any more than I already had.

So I tried hard to ignore the pain; watched all the bands I wanted to see and swallowed pain killers for fun.

Anyway, the pain and swelling still hadn't subsided by the Thursday after I came home, so I went to the hospital. They x-rayed my arms and I'd broken both of my wrists :( I ended up having 4 weeks off work.

To add insult to injury, some friends of mine left Glastonbury on the Sunday morning because they were sick of the mud and rain. Bloody wusses! :D

I still had a brilliant time despite the pain, but tried to be a little less stupid last year :D

Sorry to go off the subject by the way.
