I guess we can be confident that the Rakes will be playing R&L NME this year then.

First three songs of their first album were okay, pretty poor from then on. Saw them live once and will not be repeating it.

I've only heard brilliant things about them live.

And the debut album was fantastic! So I disagree with Mr Man above. Will be very happy to see them there

I went to see them at Lowlands 2007, was genuinely excited, had only heard Strasborg and Retreat which are top songs, the festival newspaper (long story) was raving about how brilliant they would be live, even bought the album a few hours before I went to see them (albeit partly because I wanted the Heideroosjes one and it was a better deal if I bought 2). Can't think of many times I've been so disappointed by a band I was actually looking forward to.

Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but I doubt I'd watch them again, they really were poor.

Hmmmmmm.....can't say I'm bothered erither way about this rumour. I don't dislike them but I hope they don't get too good a slot.

Didn't their singer fall ill the last time they played, about 05 or so? So they just got singers from the rest of the bands from that day to fill in?

I'm convinced I didn't imagine it. They're alright, Strasbourgs a decent song.
